Using empowered spells in macros, not possible?

So if fire breath, for example is in a macro I have to utilize the press twice method. Even if I select the option for hold and release it doesn’t work, is this intended? Any workaround I’m missing?

it probably is currently having issues because Blizzard doesn’t want to make it so macros can incorporate a macro doing more than one GCD’s worth of work.

Curious though, what kind of macro are you trying to get to function involving the breath?

My R key is Fire breath. Holding down shift R is stasis. Control R is the nana regeneration ability.

Basically all of my number 1-5 plus R are my core buttons and I use them all with shift and control. That gives me 18 slots thay I feel comfortable reaching with my hands. Not trying to make anything too crazy.

I Can definitely see how that could be a problem. I have been using the press twice option so I never noticed it for my own macros.

I personally don’t have a work around for the macro’s supporting press and hold.

I’m definitely going to keep an eye out though because that means the devs are going to likely have to play with how macros function and it might break a bunch of stuff I use currently.

Considering your bindings I would suggest finding a way to just drop the empowered (press and hold) spells onto a bar as is to let you use press and hold.

  1. Dumping strafe onto a and d (turning the turn left/right into shift mods) to free up two buttons that you can configure onto another bar and just slapping the spells there or
  2. Utilize the built in clique (or clique itself) to offload some of your healing binds into left and right MB (plus ctrl, shift, and alt combinations)

With that said my bars are set up a fair bit differently. Having 6 buttons on my mouse (running with a naga hex) makes a massive difference in potential keybindings

Thanks! Now that you say it that way I actually think I can fix it by making one button on my action bar R and another shift-R and a third control-R

I tried a macro for Deep Breath cast at mouse to remove the reticle but it was clumsy if there was a pillar on the side or some environment feature (e.g. Uldaman) so I decided no macro for now.
