I am using Fast Guild invite to ONLY whisper ppl in a polite manner. I’ve gotten a warning from Blizz. Is this addon allowed? Will I get silenced?
To clarify, you haven’t gotten a warning from Blizz because you are using it

Being polite or not has nothing to do with the actual reason for the warning, its because you are spamming people and folks are reporting you for just that

People don’t like being spammed. As Shady said, people are reporting you for spam when your addon hits them with the ad. Whether or not Blizzard actually counts it against your account depends on GM review.
But you can be temp-muted regardless if enough people are reporting you in a shortish period of time.
Literally no one likes being spammed by an addon, so there will always be some folks reporting you if you’re running it. There is an in-game option to block guild invites. The addon sending whispers is basically just circumventing that.

If I wanted the unsolicited Guild Invites I’d leave them enabled.

It’s confusing because I’ve gotten so many ppl from the whispers, who tell me they apricated it. I can see just throwing out random guild invites, but I just dont understand. Thank you guys for not putting me on blast.

The people who appreciate it are basically just alts that want the guild perks. Wouldn’t have made a difference if its your guild or any other guild, and they likely aren’t the people who have guild invites turned off.

Enable the addon to the option of “invite, then whisper”
Then, the addon will not whisper people if the invite doesn’t go through.
Invites can be blocked with a feature in game, so they won’t get either invite or whisper if they have it blocked.

I have spoken to Blizzard GMs directly about this topic on more than one occasion.
If you set it up to stop whispers if players block it, you’re not at risk of getting silenced or banned.
But sending whispers en masse with no way of the player opting out can get you in trouble.

You can block guild invites in game
I hate addons.
I have a character thats not in guild and i get whispers from the same guilds everytime im on, figure they use the same add on, and its considered spam… maybe thats why you get warnings
Just stop it, adds like that are why they added block all guild invitations to the settings. You’re being reported for your “work around”. And yes, you’re working on a ban.

That’s not a way to build an active guild. That’s a way to build a guild where nobody really does anything, and you’re the only one who cares.
