I’ve been reading a lot of the complaints about this event, an event where in 130 runs I’ve gotten 11 mounts. I understand there’s luck and rng but I see a lot of complaints like “I’ve killed 10 world bosses and no mounts, this event blows” or “I’ve randomly killed STUFF in mysteriously unmentioned raids and dungeons/difficulties and gotten no mounts, this event blows”.
I truly believe some or most of you are just plain wasting your time killing all the wrong “stuff”. This event ONLY affects in door raid and dungeon mount drops before dragonflight (no world bosses). AND only some difficulties actually drop the mount. Had one guy complain of like 80 runs in a dungeon and no mount drop, when I asked if he had 80 alts to run mythic dungeon since its a weekly lockout he disappeared, he was obviously running heroic or normal over and over and those difficulties dont drop mounts. Guys, take the time to either google what your are hunting for or go to the adventure tab and look up the raid/dungeon to see what difficulty actually drops the mount.
General rules to keep in mind:
- most of the dungeon mount drops are in mythic difficulty only, running normal or heroic or not even paying attention to what difficulty your on is wasting your time, although youll at least get some mogs. Mythic is a weekly lockout per character so its limited to the number of alts you have.
- no outdoor world bosses are buffed so leave those farms to another day when your not on a time limited event, or dont but dont complain they arent dropping mounts they arent buffed
- The raid mount drops are only on specific difficulties, as a general rule of thumb mythic is the difficulty most raid mounts drop on, but there are a few mounts that ALSO drop on other difficulties including LFR, check somewhere to make sure you arent running 100 heroic runs when you need to be on mythic setting, wasting time.
