So just resubbed to play on the fresh wrath servers and am being forced to agree to the social contract and I’m curious.
Why in the heck do I have to agree to assist other players I encounter in the world?
Why do I have to be a team player out in the world? Screw other people if I’m doing a quest where I have to collect things I’m not going to share mobs, that’s why mob tagging exists.
Why do I have to connect with others and make friends. I don’t wanna send random people “Friendly hello” messages I want to message them asking if they need a specific thing for their instance.
The other crap is in the TOS. Who thought it was a good idea to force people to agree with this? It’s now reportable to ignore other players when you’re running past a person dying. I like how the spamming and advertising is in there as well, I’m sure that’s being upheld being that that crap is in the TOS.
Yeah, I’ve wondered about this too. Like, if someone asks you for gold for their mount, and you decline to help them are you therefore breaching the social contract?
No long as you aren’t rude about saying no and or curse em out.
“I sadly do not have the gold. Have a good day.”
All the stuff in the social contract has been in the TOS since day one. All that thing does is suggest to be nice to folk and give a TLDR of the current TOS.
Btw the “” was what I would say. You could just simply say no.
This really goes against my principles though. I tend to say, “No way bum! Put in work for your gold. Don’t expect free handouts. I don’t respect roleplaying a beggar in a video game.”
Fortunately, nobody has asked me for gold since the social contracts have come out.
They are not messing around with this folks…my account is suspended for 9 days from these new rules. no warning…no mute…nothing just banned for 9 days.
