At times like this I’m reminded that some of our battle pets and toys can be quite useful for things other than pet battles and cosmetic stuff.
For Pilgrim’s Bounty, if you are running around cooking stuff, Pierre is so handy; you don’t need to keep setting a cooking fire, as long as he is next to you, you can happily cook.
For toys, when doing Ahn qiraj’s Viscidus boss on a non-Frost Mage toon there is the Endothermic Blaster toy. This boss is peculiar in most of the game as it is only attackable by frost magic so this little toy is damned handy.
A couple of the toys have been nerfed lately, which is a bit annoying. My “Mother’s Skinning Knife” clearly says it works on toons up to level 113 yet when levelling up my hunter in BfA it would not work at all. A small thing I know but hey, you gave it to us Blizz, at least make it work right!
What other pets or toys have you found that are handy in the game? And which ones would you most like to see usable across the game?

you can use pet bed with a battle pet on player summoning circles like the one on argus, that requires players to stand on multiple runes at once to summon a rare. as a hunter/warlock you can command your minion to stand on one rune, while using pet bed to keep a companion pet on the other, and stand on one yourself.

Yeah, I was pretty upset about the skinning knife.
Don’t forget the Chef’s Hat toy. I use that all the time. And the Safari Hat.

The Soft Foam Sword has been very useful for going back to do old quests and not one shotting the quest mob.
On a personal level I love setting out the Ogre Pinata for everyone while waiting for Sha of Anger to spawn, everyone loves bubblegum and even works on transforms like sandstone drake mount.

Thank you for this post, my friend who boosted one of his character who doesn’t have a garrison had to go to Timeless Isle every time we wanted to to go to WoD zones but luckily he is an engineer and all he had to do is to get the portal toy from the AH & go to Warspear one last time thru Timeless Isle and learn WoD engineering lv1.
It worked perfectly!

Lucilles sewing needles has a chance to turn somebody into a witch. If you see somebody with a horrid transmog and cant stand looking at them then you can use this on them over and over again until it works! I love spamming this on ppl.
Ok… now for something actually useful. The Guild page and Guild herald pets that you can buy from a Guild vendor in your factions major city allows you to sell and buy from it. This pet is great whenever you’re in a low level raid and you need to sell all the epics that dropped off the bosses. It does have a CD and a duration though, so use it wisely.
