US Price Increase Incoming

LOL it will be a death knell for this game. I have known tons of people over the years that struggled to make the sub fee. Heck the guilds paid sub fees for some of them so if that is the model they want well guilds that pay will be the new model. Whales FTW

i got into an argument with a guy earlier who makes heroics miserable for others because they’re “irrelevant” content and i told him he could get a guaranteed heroic level weapon from upgrading an honor piece. you know what he said? he hates pvp and refuses to do it and would rather be miserable rerunning content for 20 or more hours than spend an hour or to buying an honor piece. if you want to bash your head into a wall doing mythic+ when they said they were making it less lucrative for a reason you’re no different than he is, and not spending your time wisely and would be better off playing a different kind of game.

Aaand you just dismissed my complaints again.

Cool, you do you buddy. Clean your nose when you’re done.

Max I’d pay is $20.00.

I’m not sure if people lost their minds in believing it’s time to increase sub costs and on top of that y’all just paid $50 to $100 for new expansion.

There is just so much after this statement that makes it feel that it isn’t or you have some other reason for replying.

I can afford it. I have subs to other MMORPGs that I play. I’ve already been on the fence about WoW the past few expansions over all I feel there is a drop in quality in the game they make. Adding another $5 to the price of the game isn’t worth it.

It will. And when it does, open your bookmark to this comment and remind me to tell you so.

before the expansion even came out you knew this would happen. they said it before the expansion was even released. you didn’t listen. it’s not shilling to remind you of something you tried to hand wave away, and couldn’t. i’m happy with the game. you’re not. i’m getting my moneys worth. and you’re attacking me on the forums because im not miserable and paying monthly for the privilege.

You are confusing types of income. This is paid for by a persons disposable income and is quickest cut from most people budgets. Once again, this game is not 33% better than so many other games and streaming services and a price increase would cause both a short term and long term loss for ActiBlizz in their P&L.

You are getting too emotional dude. Step off from the forums a bit and breathe :joy::joy:

Knew what would happen? A sub increase? WQs taking 10+ minutes to complete? All of the new systems being bland, uninteresting, and a chore?

what part of “gear will be gear and each drop will be meaningful and because we’re removing tf there will be less loot” did you not understand literally a year ago before the expansion came out?

So… did they stop teaching global economics and transatlantic trade and retail partnerships or something? The same thing has happened in 2012, 2016 and 2017

Most of the price hikes are as well influx with what is happening within those global regions and markets. Is there a threat that it can happen here? Yes, every year it most likely plausibly gets brought up in share holder meetings to increase the sub.

It would probably be safe to assume, they also, bring it up - discuss it and dismiss it to keep the sub static and continue with a secure steady flow then trying to force the hand and further cause anymore damage.

In short, probably will be discussed for us state side, but probably wont be pushed through; though there are the increasing chances as newer share holders get thrown into the mix who have little to no understanding of how the markets work can get their lucky wish to remove the static and increase the sub and see the largest exodus in gaming history.

I dunno, what part of Covenants will be a “meaningful” choice did Blizzard lie about too?

Even if we did know about it, it doesn’t mean we knew the extent or impact of it. I don’t think anyone expected to go several dungeons without seeing any loot at all for example.

i’m not emotional at all. i think you guys who keep paying because of addiction are some of the most hilarious things in the world to me. i have stopped playing many times without whining on the forums even once about it. none of the complaints you post here will change a thing. they haven’t taken forum feedback seriously in years. and if you harass them on twitter they’ll block you. you are just farting into the wind. and wasting time and money on top of it.

You do realize that not all currencies are valued the same, yes? Or did you skip basic economics?

So for those who can’t actually get themselves to stop playing, you think it’s funny? You think mental illness is hilarious?

Oh boy, what a twisted person you are.

The price hikes don’t reflect the exchange rate, they’re on top of the already existing price difference due to exchange rate. So far it looks like for CAD it’s restricted to buying game time rather than sub, but it’s +$3/month for it over the exchange rate.

Times have changed and raising sub fees is not what works now. The world has so many sub fees and folks have realized it adds up. Games compete with netflix, hulu, amazon etc fees. Raising prices is a risky proposition as all those things are entertainment. Given a choice many will chose to skip this and once people leave the ecosphere good luck getting them back.
