Increasing the subscription cost during this pandemic where people are losing jobs left, right, and center is exactly the tone deaf thing Blizzard will do now that Activision has assumed direct control.

If they did it would make it even easier to quit, and this time not return.
Even battle passes in other games respect my time more for my money than this game does to even consider paying even $0.01 more than I currently do.

And if it meant shop services went down in price Itâd be worth it.
Think about it. What real world activity can you do for $15-20 month that equals as many hours as wow?
Hell the Whole country is shut down right now but even a night out playing pool and drinking would be well over a that cost for a single night.
People are unreal going up in arms over the sub fee.

If they increase the monthly sub, which they may be dumb enough to do, I will unsub my 3 accounts. This game is a poorly run game in a dying genre. The player base declines within 45 days of expansions going live and it is just not worth any more than I currently pay. The AU price increase brought them up to roughly the same cost in USD as US players have been paying for 16 years.

the value for the sub cost is unreal. it should be more after 16 years and it hasnât gone up with inflation. if it does a bit itâll still be way worth it. maybe itâll weed out all the people who barely play but spend all their time whining on the forums about things that wonât change.

most people arenât poor and demanding hand outs. the game will be fine. even with 1m subs over all regions theyâd make more from the cash shop from the people who are left vs people who donât buy anything and do nothing but whine. win/win.

HBO Max is $14.99 a month.
Disney Plus is only $7.99 a month.
Netflix basic plan is only $8.99 a month.
ESO is FREE TO PLAY. The subscription gives you a lot of perks. at it is $14.99 a month
SWtOR is free to play but also has a subscription plan of $14.99 a month.
Hell, I can go find some full quest mods for Skyrim right now and replay that entire game for free (I love the modding community).
WOW is not worth more than $15 a month when there is so much competition for my dollar. I am currently enjoying Shadowlands, but not so much that I am willing to pay more.

Your lack of basic economic understanding is almost as sad as your white knighting for Actiblizz. Seriously, players are already unsubbing as the value to price just is not there for many people.

They might see a slight surge at first, but people would wise up and realize they should just take a few months off and come back, missing nothing and just skipping the time gating. It would net a loss to Blizzard in the end.
