US Price Increase Incoming

I have the disposable income, but I hate subscription services. I’d have to think about it.

I have a list of xmog ideas all set if Blizz needs help with ideas

Oh and I’d like an original model old blanchy mount
and a carriage mount (with or without blanchy pulling it)

Also this would be a great time to put in those pay per slot extra character slots for people who want more than 50 characters

Tough call on a price increase. All of the spending in 2020 is all but guaranteed to make the US dollar weaker and give us inflation. The value of the $15 Blizzard has been charging will be less. However, $15 will be less spending power for people now too. If they raise their price to try and keep income essentially the same it will likely make it too expensive for many people due to the the loss of their buying power.

They posted record profits and then proceeded to layoff a bunch of people. You’re getting what you’re gonna get.

Anything over 20 and I’m out. I can afford it but the product ain’t worth the sub at that point.

many of the other countries are now paying what we pay. /shrug

equality sucks.

I don’t know why this keeps surfacing. I would hate to be one of the people laid off but nothing mandates that they keep them no matter how much or how little profit Blizzard makes. Not sure but maybe if they were unionized there would be a way, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Oh I recognize that, but we’ll see. I guess I should explicitly state, If ActiBlizz increases sub prices but I don’t see a noticeable increase in quality or features, I will probably quit. Hands down, I did it in Cata, Wod, and the beginning of Legion. If I don’t like what I’m paying for I have no problem leaving.

Imagine telling us Aussies to just deal with it when we were told OUR SUBSCRIPTION price was going up.

Look how karma comes around hey. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

several countries around the world deal with it for years and they don’t say a word.

not only aussies.

It’s mostly that they’d increase the price but not reinvest it back into the game. They could hire more talent but they have their groove down where they’re doing just fine.

There’s also only so many people you can have working on a project before it becomes a hindrance.

A lot of the comments remind of that, first they came for x group, then they came for y group, by the time they came for my group z, no one was there. I know butchered it, but hey, hopefully the point is understood.

I’d be willing to bet that there would have been very few Canadian voices among the “Just deal with it” crowd when this stuff happened to Aus/NZ.

I can only hope the light came on and this is the plan. It would be a bit of a hail mary though. A price increase is sure to drive people away. Take your pick, many of us being on super tight budgets now or already walking the fine line on this expansion (I have even jumped on board with grievances lol).

If they raised the rate I would either try and play the AH and make enough to pay for my subscription or just quit. Wow isn’t worth more with this out of touch dev team.

Wouldn’t be surprised. The monthly subscription has stayed the same at 14.99 since 2004. Today that’s about 20.00 dollars due to inflation.

edit: $15 today would get you only $10.61 worth of stuff in 2003.

People don’t get this and they would complain if they were given no raises for 16 years. Blizz won’t raise the sub, it’s too much of a pain point but they will put more and more things into the in-game store.

Fixed a typo there

Yeah I meant that $15 in today’s money would only get you $10 worth of stuff in 2003.

Bro they change here in Brazil and LA everynow and then due inflation and maintence costs. Exchange rates and taxes are also a thing.
You still pay less than an american do lol.
