Different countries have different laws surrounding promotions and marketing. Especially when it’s a foreign company. It makes sense that a US based business would have US exclusive promotions.
Canada has stricter advertising regulations than the U.S. Also, Canada requires advertisements to be bilingual, with specific rules that vary in Quebec.
It’s the number of promotions going on at once that has me going ‘yeesh’.
Blame the other freaking government because that’s why they’re doing this…
The legal minefield that you have to do about giving giveaways in other countries is off the charts.
Excuse my ignorance, but isn’t just a VPN enough to bypass this limitation?
Alas I think that crown is hideous, so not sure if I’d go all the trouble for that + installing the discord APP (I just use the web one).
Yeah, until you win it.
I didn’t get it. There’s something else to prevent it?
So why aren’t they saying this? I mean, it’s common hearsay from random people on the forums, but if this is actually the case, and not just an excuse some people come up with, Blizzard should be open about it, and cite the specific law that’s the reason for the restriction if they don’t want a lot of upset paying customers.
EU, Canada, Australia/NZ.
There should be at least some sort of way for players from these countries to access the goods. Be it seperate promos, or even allow them to be purchased. Something that Blizzard can do to say we’re more than an afterthought to them.

Spent 15 mins playing with friends in Discord and got it. Gotta love a free Discord “Quest
I streamed to my hubs as he was asleep.
Looks really nice on my Dracthyr Mage in Updated T2.

A VPN might make it look you live in a different location, but the address in account management will tell the tale.
too big
You could use google and search requirements for companies to do promotional marketing in foreign markets. Their lawyers probably prevent them from stating why so as not to anger the foreign countries they want to continue to do business in.
I get the blazecycle, I’m surprised at the crown thing and blizzard shop products. At least with the blazecycle the issue likely had more to do with the partnering company promoting an unhealthy lifestyle through junk food. Compared to the US they have much stricter regulations. Blizzard probably can’t do promotions elsewhere because of those junk food related laws.
I honestly keep thinking that it might have to do with Microsoft, but that’s more feels than any facts.

Again, something someone made up on the forum based on zero evidence. I’m going to ask some of my advertising clients for real insight into this. If anyone knows it’ll be them.

Yup! Using a VPN to connect to a US server is good enough to get access to the new Discord Quest to obtain this piece of transmog gear.
I just used a VPN as I reside in Canada and was successfully able to get this transmog piece. Had no issues at all redeeming the code!
Losing your heads over a purple transmog.
I love when promotions are exclusively one per account. F scammers.
