So I play skeram alliance, and when the server launched we had a few hour queue which sucked to be sure, but it was far from the end of the world especially knowing that the queues wouldn’t ever get worse.
The server was slightly horde favored, and leveling up among the front of the pack(a few days off the dungeon cleave/aoe mages I noticed a pretty balanced leveling experience and it was great.
Fast forward to free transfers, alliance guilds not wanting to compete with top 10 NA guilds for world bosses and queue dodgers were the first to leave. It seems very few horde left
What are are left with is a totally imbalanced server in which alliance get routinely outnumbered at every instance and popular farming spot.
This isn’t too bad if you are in a guild like me and can get friends to help, but the leveling experience is just shattered. The efficiency for questing compared to dungeon spam is just a no brainer for alliance.
What are possible solutions? Merge back the servers now skeram rarely has a queue?

Remove PVP from the game, PVPers are never satisfied no matter what Blizzard try to do to placate them.
Seems to me the problem is entirely with Alliance players, which you clearly describe, it always IS Alliance players who moan about PVP ‘balance’ … haven’t you figured out yet, Alliance players just don’t want to PVP, they only want to gank lowbie Horde and run the hell awasy from a ‘fair’ fight.

Problem was blizzard letting an under represented faction transfer…

Yeah, because forcing them to stay is definitely not a prime motivator to leave the game altogether? Seriously dude, playing the game is a choice and if folks are stuck on a server they dont like while the other faction gets free transfers they will just leave the game.

Pvp servers will always become one sided over time. Unless they add in faction queues.
Ediy: At least bgs will be cross realms then servers would of been in trouble.

That’s what rerolling is for. That should be the only way to switch servers.
Transfers ruin the server community and consistency of seeing the same players.
And We could try not allowing free transfers before making that claim imo.
This server was fine before them.
So what, exactly, is the difference between transferring off a server and rerolling and never playing that character again? Imean, other than having to do the work over and leaving the original server with a false population number?

Because it takes much less dedication to transfer than reroll?
It’s the grass is always greener, these servers alliance transferred too aren’t even that active and will most likely be on the lower end of all the server populations.

Lol I love when someone makes one of these “stop the outnumbered faction from leaving” arguments while posting from a non Classic toon. It is an especially nice touch as you rely on both the grass is always greener and dedication. Protip, sometimes the grass actually is greener.
Would have been better than forcing the majority faction to stay on an undesirable realm
They werent forced to do anything of the sort. EVERYONE was allowed to transfer. I know this because I moved 2 horde off Herod and 2 horde of Skeram.
What the hell difference does it make?
I actually don’t mind being outnumbered. There is always WPvP, I feel bad for my horde friends that are just bored out in a world without fearing the opposite faction… the only semi-annoying thing is having to corpse run to instances and not being able to summon.
And no, if these transfers hated the game so bad they would quit - the server they played on would not be the reason the did so.
Ok so we can play on crap servers? I transfered this 60 mage off stalagg to heartseeker and there are only 2 guilds doing mc one is French Canadian and the other is full.
Really is disappointing that blizzard made the problem even worse, I have already re rolled alliance on another server

Come on, thats disingenuous and you know it. Some servers are just more toxic or aggressive and we both know it. Just because someone hates their current server does not in any way mean they hate the game. I will agree somewhat and say that people would just quit if they were forced to choose between staying on a server they dont like or reroll. Crazy thing, some people already have quit.
I see what you are saying here. So you made a choice and you regret it. Maybe you should focus on getting more horde over there and worry less about telling the other faction how to play?
I just don’t believe the free transfers, especially the second time around were good decisions by blizzard.
Transfers were supposed to be for queue times, the vast majority of people transferring now aren’t doing so because the queues(which rarely happen), but because they are a part of the outnumbered faction.
It’s not good for any of the servers, heartseeker for example has the opposite problem with dominating.

Well, you should send a strongly worded email to Blizzard as your personal experience is obviously reflective of the entire player base. Second question, where did you get the info on why people are transferring? Have you asked everyone or are you just assuming intent?
Considering I’ve grouped with the level 60’s that transferred I know about at least 5 guilds with 40+ level 60’s that transferred, and then I know of about 15 or so individual players that did.
But mainly it’s just playing the game and talking to people. There is a vast difference in the past few weeks, and anyone on skeram can verify this.
But yes I know more about the situation than you, so there’s that.

Ah, you are one of those, gotcha.
One of what? A player with an opinion that is based on first hand experience?
Believe it or not not everyone goes around with an uninformed opinion and tries to play it off as facts like you do.
Weak troll to be honest.
