Give us the ability to disable the display of interface elements through editing, just as you allow hiding elements of the spell bar. I want to disable the display of quests and fill that space with other elements. I also want to disable the display of the bags bar.

At the moment, I don’t have any addons installed, and I like it that way. I played without addons in vanilla as well. I’ve long noticed that when I play with addons, it feels like I’m not experiencing the game fully, like I’m missing out on some part of the content that I’m paying for.

The part of the content you’re paying for that you’re missing out on is WoW’s extensive addon support, the entire reason Blizzard decided to include addon support at the start was so people could do exactly what you want to do and customize their experience to their liking. Saying “Blizzard ought to do it” is practically spitting in their face when they already made massive efforts to let you do it.
Addons are just very nice because with a couple clicks you can basically add improvements to your game that blizzard simply doesnt have the time or manpower to add themselves, its like an outsourced developer that adds blizzard level quality to the game.
If you dont want to do that then its fine and hopefully blizzard does add those options at some point.
Then you may miss out on some part of the content you are paying for.

I won’t install an addon that will obviously conflict with the Blizzard interface. Besides, there are no such addons.

Look i cant tell if im talking to a boomer, a troll, or an AI. If you’re a boomer and that’s why you’re responding in the way you are then that’s my bad. It’s just such a weird conversation to begin with. You can spend 10 minutes to resolve your entire issue or wait 3 years for blizzard to do it…its your choice.

I’ll wait three years and get a proper solution from Blizzard rather than ruin the game’s interface.
You can get an addon that edits exactly what you asked for without changing any other elements.
Every couple of years, I try to find an addon that solves this, and I’ve tried many of them. They all suck. I’ve had various addons, and I felt mentally handicapped because debuffs were highlighted for me and boss casts were announced. I’m against this kind of degradation, and I don’t use addons. Don’t try to push addons on me—I’m not advocating for their removal either.
Im almost certain the moveanything addon does this and if not something else must if you scroll thrkugh curseforge. Moveanything is almost a guarantee though
OP reminds me of when I went on strike against addons in Legion, disabled all of them and ran laps around Dal and did keys and stuff with no addons.
These days I only use Omni CC, Weak Auras, Leatrix, Details and MSBT. The last patch destroyed Mik’s. I like seeing the announcements of my CDs coming off CD in the middle of my screen without having to program my own WA’s for it. I also like seeing big fat juicy heal crits in scrolling combat text.
Blizzard has butchered the scrolling combat text, I can’t get it to function how I want.
Also I want the same thing OP does. I would like to delete the Quest crap off the screen permanently.
Blizzard has made a lot of decisions that I find unpleasant. For example, the sounds—the spell sounds in the classic version of the game are much more pleasant, while in the current version they are quite harsh. And the model physics? The model physics and animations in the retail version are just awful compared to what they used to be.
