URGENT - Petless MM Hunter

okay I’ve reached a level of frustration with this game to the point i feel the need to vent it and offer suggestions to which i hope ill be credited for.

I’ve been a petless hunter since pandora’s lonewolf and at this point i cant go back to having a pet, blizzard needs to make accommodations for players that choose petless hunters in addition they need to improve the MM over all. I have no idea how to begin but here goes:

Kiting - to many melee classes have so many moves its impossible to even move from your place and every time i create a gap it gets closed instantly! warriors, dk’s, dh, shaman, feral, monks, rouges and pally’s all have so much mobility its crazy and what’s messed up is while kiting a paladin they are able to shoot at me while chasing me down dealing more damage to me then i ever could while standing?!?!?! another annoying issue is the inability to properly fight them, on top of being blasted and unable to move from all the snares and stuns classes like rouge run behind me forcing me to turn but I’m unable to even move properly. also ill mention EVERY CLASS CAN STUN AND DAMAGE ME WITHOUT BREAKING THE STUN. Btw all these classes have so many instant bursts meaning they can move as they release so much dps! Back to the mobility its so hard to chase down a target that keeps LOS’ing me and all i can do is use the same weak instant moves arcne and steady shot, in pvp a few secs can make a big difference and often times i can never make a few seconds for myself.

next is the buffs aka CD’s all classes have and the turtle - litterly every class has some sort of shield or buff that protects them fully AND THEY CAN CONTINE TO FIGHT IN IT but if i use my very weak turtle which btw doesn’t remove dots or snares and mind you I’ve died many times in a turtle, i can no longer attack or even place traps not to mention running away if im snared. yet paladins, rouges, dh, monks …etc can buff up becoming immune and blast damage, the one that frustrates me the most is warlocks! your telling me they have a shield 3x there health (exaggerating) and they can blast insane dps, i litterly have to waste my entire open to “absorbed” just like with monks and pallies or dodge with rouges. so not only do i not have proper defensives but I’m also limited with them and i have the worst mobility.

Traps - I’VE SUGGESTED THIS A MILLION TIMES! TRAPS ESPECILLY FREEZE NEEDS TO ONLY…ONLY BE TRIGGERED BY PLAYERS!!! It is absolutely annoying when there is so many minions and you try to freeze a player but instead freeze a minion, no one ever cc a minion in pvp ever! While I’m at it the way traps are thrown is so inaccurate that it has to be improved I suggested a freezing arrow -perhaps make it in the talent tree.

i get disarmed so much its crazy! Also tranquilizing shot needs to prioritize shields. in addition ive noticed as well healers are so strong, you can no longer kill them or anyone in the openers like before, but now healers feel impossible to kill 1v1 but they can easily kill me.

One big issue i have as a petless MM is I can rarely win 1v1. my best bet is if i start in stealth and have traps set otherwise itll be a very tough fight. also why does the dwarf dispel have side effects? if im almost dead and have dots by sham or lock or priest and all i have is my dispel then im dead either way!

in conclusion blizzard should make a subsection in the MM for petless hunters, hunters overall need better defensives and mechanisms in place to help them kite better and other improvements to offset the disadvantages they face from other classes.

If you give Lonewolf MM Hunters similar utility to pet using MM hunters, then what is the benefit of using a pet? Considering pets are one of the lynchpin aspects of the entire Hunter class?

Also, giving dispel a priority target buff is the most ignorant, misguided and absurd recommendation that I’ve seen on this forum in a while.

Then give us an archer class. How is it in a medieval setting with magic, warriors and dragons do we not just have a guy who likes to use a bow?

Sounds good, lets do it.

Yeah, man. Blizzard is going to invest time and resources into creating a class nearly identical to Hunters outside of using a pet.

I really think they don’t. I think the hunter community overwhelmingly enjoys the current state of MM relative to a LOT of past iterations. Tuning is something that can always be talked about, but it’s my understanding that a lot of people liked the rework? Also, the VAST majority of hunter players play it specifically for the pet.

Feel like a pet should absolutely be a core essential for all specs in the class. If you just want to zug ranged unkickable damage while not having to worry about pet management either accept the drawbacks of playing hunter w/o a pet, smile on your face, or roll out a frost mage.

Nah its a hunter. Play without the pet. Or summon it and use its abilities. Annoying they tied water ele to veins too. Was confused when i came back.

Pet management was fun/skillful and the whole reason to play hunter

as a hunter main i am split on alot of what has been said here. disagree on the pet situation. you can always play like i do where i start without a pet using lonewolf and as the game progress’s i will summon a pet for its utility and ms effect as i feel it dampens more.

I do agree that we do need just a little bit more in the survivability department. but not as much as you may feel. I think alot of issues could possibly be addressed by making disengage have 2 charges. if you consider the circumstances that alot of the classes have to charges of gap closers (charge, step, mages have blink, 2 GH for outlaw rogue. 2 grips for dk) i think 2 charges of disengage isnt a crazy thing to ask for. especially considering slows and roots feel alot less useful in the current state of rated pvp.

BUT i think where the largest issue is for MM right now. is the lack of ability to punish melee cleaves that choose to stay glued to the mm hunter all game. since the 11.0.5 rework mm damage in rated arena has been a JOKE. aimed shot and rapid fire feel like they are extremely undertuned. for the cast time spent having to stay still and get an aimed shot off just to see a 700k crit feels like a complete joke. We can be in our complete burst sequence everything proc’d with trueshot aura popped. and it doesnt matter. damage is c tier in arena. and defensives though much improved from the past are not enough for you to be able to sit justify sitting and casting out your damage against anything. the best you can do now-a days is try to survive to damp, get someone in a bad position los and blow defensives and offensives once and hope their healer cant recover.

or perhaps there’s literally no other options to be a shootymans

if u wanna smack people with sticks, or stab em, or wiggle ur fingers at em like a filthy wizard, you’ve got multiple different ways to do so
