Had two really good choices in the vault. Could have had an awesome ring with a ton of haste, but went with the legs because they had crit and mastery- and NO versatility which is ideal for BM hunters. Put them in the vault and guess what happened? They spit out crap pants with a ton of versatility. I was all the way down to 2% versatility- now up to 4% and I lost one of the best rings for my class. The devs, it seems, are unable to do much of anything right. It’s simply being lazy with writing code. Leave the stats on our gear alone.
I could go into a rant about how some code could improve vault choices- but we have been complaining about that forever and nothing gets done- we are now into YEARS with no changes. Just a look at recent posts show several with this same, ONGOING issue.
We all put in a ton time grinding our butts off only to be disappointed over and over again. Not much else to say…

It shows you the stats on the item youre converting before you convert.
This is on you

How do you still not know how the Catalyst works? It transforms the gear into a tier piece - which has a predetermined set of stats. Maybe next time you’ll look up which tier pieces your spec wants before randomly chucking stuff in there.
There was no need to convert the pants today. Looking at your character you have three tier pieces. You could have waited until you had 4p ready to go so that you could enjoy the benefits of better stat itemization until you were ready to activate the set.

Sad to say it, but this is OP’s fault.
Since it was introduced years ago in Shadowlands, Creation Catalyst ALWAYS worked to convert whatever you put into it into tier. Tier has ALWAYS had fixed stats for each piece that you can look up online.
If you don’t look it up in advance, you can see it in the preview window at the creation catalyst.
This is really OP’s fault for not educating himself on the basic functioning of the system.

Please no, don’t complain about the catalyst. We don’t want to give Blizzard an excuse to completely remove it like gear vendors. Bad enough that it took 6 weeks.

I don’t remember what the limitations are on it, but would the OP be able to do an item restore to get back the non-tier pants? I don’t remember if converting it makes it ineligible for that system.
The catalyst is literally converting the gear to the equivalent item from the raid.
Of course your stats were going to change to reflect the item you were transforming it in to.
Just saying unless you are the top 0.01% world first guild it won’t matter one bit for the 99.99% of the player base. The content we don’t isn’t cutting edge and losing 0.000000000001% of damage due to stats that’s not ideal is not a big issue.
Bigger issue is know your class, when to use CD where to stand in fights that’s way more important than having ideal stats.

Just a heads up, your tier shoulders also have versatility on them. Better go with the helm for 4pc, if you don’t already have it.
And you foolishly failed to check what piece the Catalyst would turn your gear into? The game literally tells you, and then gives you a 5-second warning before it even lets you confirm you want to Catalyze the piece.
Yeah, sorry, but this is entirely on you. The game gave you every possible opportunity to confirm you were getting what you were getting and you still somehow managed to screw it up.

You also could have looked up the stats on your tier prices before hand so you would’ve known “hey pants might be bad for me I’ll take the ring”. . Or visited the class discords and saw which pieces people were avoiding in their quest for 4pc. This is not really anyone’s fault but yours.
