As the title states, I’m getting a bonus soon and it’s time for an upgrade! I’m going to be going from an i7 8700 (non k) and 16gb 2133mhz ddr4 ram. I picked some stuff out on PCpartpicker, albeit it’s an upgrade so I’m bringing the 4060ti and the WD 1tb ssd with me; hence, I will not be able to change those at all.
I am on the fence about the PSU. I currently have a 600w psu. Would that affect performance in any way with the CPU picked or should I go with the upgraded PSU that I have on the list? The first build is the one I made and the second is a build someone off reddit put together.
Please leave your feedback and let me know what you would do to improve or if you feel it needs no improvement. Thanks for your time!

5700X3D will perform better in the here and now, but the AM5 platform will give you upgrade path.
Hard to say, if it were me I’d skip AM4 and just splurge on a 9800X3D today. If you’re on a budget though the 7500F won’t be bad.

Right now my main concerns are getting a stable framerate. With my i7 8700, I get a lot of dips. Would the 7500f still provide a good FPS experience? I’m dumbfounded when it comes to the newer processors lol
it would be a pretty big improvement, but just a disclaimer FPS dips in this game can be mitigated by a good CPU and fast RAM, but it can still suck sometimes.
Maybe Shiftydruid user can come along later and provide more insight, but if you search posts by him he has a lot of data

World of Warcraft is a cpu-based game which means your performance is heavily based around two things. CPU and Ram Speed. There is a caveat to this however and that’s the X3D cpu.
With the Stacked cache on the X3D your Ram speed means next to nothing. Basically if you get the non x3D cpu you will need super fast low latency of RAM to even compete with the x3D CPU. This is even more true if you wind up looking at Intel as an option also.
My advice would be to do an am5 build and splurge on the 9800x3D. The newer V-Cache technology from the 9000 series is a much more refined and perfected version of the AM4 X3D CPU you are considering. The 9800x3D is literally better in every way. Efficiency, Thermals and Performance. Putting the V-Cache under the CCD was a massive Improvement and made it less subjectable to Voltages and Heat. It is in my opinion hands down worth the price they are asking.
However I understand money does not grow on trees so if you must choose between the two listed in your OP the X3D CPU build is hands down what you want it’s literally no comparison
