I cannot express how thrilled I am that they’re giving us some leeway with drops. This is an awesome QOL improvement that’s much needed.
Now if only we didn’t have to re-farm the same items each mythic season.

It doesn’t look that way. I guess this would give those players incentive and more reason to use the creation catalyst since many are likely only using LFR.
With it requiring so many tokens I am ok with this tbh.
It will allow players to over come hurdles with upgraded gear and allow unlucky people to still be able to compete.
As long as they don’t nerf the acquisition rate to make it just free gear.

I think it’s a good replacement to what warforging was doing, but you get to pick which item gets upgraded.
This definitely makes me want to get back into heroic raiding.

The point is, NOTHING is for Mythic raiders. Normal gets to upgrade to Heroic, Heroic gets to upgrade to Mythic, Mythic… gets nothing.
Just like with Titanforging, where Mythic drops couldn’t Titanforge at all.
If they want to put in upgrades, put them in across the board. Including for Mythic. That’s how they worked in MoP.
Didn’t mythic raiders campaign to remove titanforging? So they didn’t have to do more to get bis?

A lot of people hated Titanforging for a lot of reasons.
I think this game is already catering to the 1% elite. They get the Mythic stuff and all the fame.
Let the casual raiders get some well deserved boost. What others get shouldn’t bother you, focus on what you’re getting. This changes benefits everyone including alts.
They’ll complain about this because it means they have to farm more difficulties. Let them suffer if they wish.

Upgrade to what? They’re already at the highest ilvl.
Upgrade to the same degree that Normal and Heroic do.
No crumbs for the rabble I guess?
Would it hurt anyone for LFR to upgrade to normal over time? Right now LFR gear that isn’t tier is way behind world drops.

Which is to the “next raid tier”. As you know, it stops at mythic. Normal >Heroic and Heroic to Mythic.
There’s no mention of LFR to Normal. and there’s no difficulty after Mythic. What you want would just inflate ilvl even more for the 1% that achieve those levels.
I think it brings it on-par with Mythic+15 ilvl for what seem to be similar to heroic raid level.
If it’s not until 9.2.5 who cares? Let everyone enjoy the new system I say.
Mythic raiders can enjoy it by doing Heroic raid and upgrading a piece to Mythic.

I think it’s more of a way to get mythic raid gear, and the mythic raids usually drop the best stuff and unique cosmetics anyway? Who knows. Season 4 probably may have a ksm mount or something.
