I am trying to log on at the moment and for at least 10 minutes the screen is sitting at Updating-Initializing. Is this a problem, or is it slow for everyone?
Edit: after about 12m it finally began to update. This sort of extremely slow initialization has been happening a fair bit lately.
Yeah the same has happened to me.
It has gone from taking 10+ minutes to initialize but at least showing “xx/xxx mb” to being stuck on “Initializing…Please Wait”.
Was in the middle of typing all the things I’ve done so far to try to remedy this and decided to disable my anti-virus (AVG). That worked for me.
That would be odd if it was the cause of my slow initializing. I only use the Windows Security and it has never previously caused any issues with anything I am running.
I’ve been stuck on intializing please wait for a week now. Ive tried everything. How do u turn off anti-virus on windows.
I use AVG instead of Windows Defender.
It also isn’t working for me today. Launcher shows WoW has another update and it’s initializing at a snail’s pace even after I disabled AVG.
edit: It seems a combination of disabling my anti-virus, shutting down the Battle Net Update Agent, and running it as administrator is what fixes it for me.
