So went to update my addons through CurseForge and “Better Wardrobe and Transmog” and “NameplateCooldowns” are causing windows defender to flip out about a trojan. The updates fail and lock up Curseforge.
Anyone experiencing similar?

They should be lua code and Windows has no native lua script interpreter.
What happens if you try and download and install them manually from the website instead of using the client? If it still flags them consider uploading them to virustotal.com and seeing what it says. Then install them manually and tell defender to ignore them. As long as you’re not executing them and leaving WoW to open them as lua files the only risk is if someone found a vulnerability in WoW’s lua script interpreter and sandbox which I find improbable but hence why I suggest uploading them to virustotal first just to be safe.
Are you sure it’s not the curse client with malware ads in it again? If it only happens with the curse client I’d ditch that and use something else.
So just an update. Apparently this was an issue with Windows Defender falsely flagging certain addon files. I find it curious that multiple addons could have had collision issues so I’m assuming there’s some other bug going on but it should be fixed.
