Dracthyr get different effects for spells that give them wings because they already have wings and Blizzard thought wings on wings was dumb.

No… they got effects on their wings. Turning back to humanoid form, you can see that the spell effects are the same as they always are.
Are we really mad because they added glow to the wings that are attached to their body?

Especially since, cool as they are, they are just a recolour of the glow from Eternity Surge. So it probably wasn’t a huge effort.
It does make me wish they would use such an effect for Dragonrage though. Glowing wings are just awesome.

It wasn’t so much that dracthyr got new effects just because, but more because they kinda had to. I think we can all agree that having little cupid wings poking out through a dracthyr’s normal wings would look pretty weird, right?

Exactly. This wasn’t something brand new. Just a color shift of already existing glow effects. Not to mention, we already had the rest of the golden glow effects, because Prevoker.

jebaited, the youtube video says “spell animations” but the description correctly says WING animations and it’s not really animations so much as moving textures.
All the animations look identical to my priest.
Hoping Blizzard give some unique visuals for Holy Fire.
