Okay I’m going to be honest… I really wish there was an OPTIONAL updated graphics button. I’ve had my nostalgia rush but my spoiled retail stained eyeballs miss those sweet sweet updated graphics. I just think if the graphics were updated and all the content was the same the game would be perfect.

OP, I have fantastic news for you. You can play BfA for BfA graphics. You can play Classic for Classic graphics. Just like any feature of the two games. Aren’t options great?
By the way, I still have no idea why people think models from a different game should be shoved into Classic.

Welcome to you maybe. I dont want to have to download another 5 gigs of data just so you graphics fans can have them.
And if they are the same game, how come retail doesnt have classic models? Classic class design? Etc.

I have never seen blizzard have an optional download. They are far more likely to just force the download on everyone and be done with it.

you are too late. Before live, many puritans were actually OK with having an “option” to turn on retail graphics but they appear to have found a reason not to… “download size”.

I can think of other reasons. We dont have old models in retail, why should they get new in classic?
Or how about the keeping it authentic?

While both games are named World of Warcraft, they certainly are not the same game or there would be no reason to have different servers. Lol
You can keep asking Blizzard for these changes but you have to know by now that they aren’t happening, so why bother?

Why do you care? All of that is client side. You wouldn’t even see your guildies boob physics and Arcane missile light show. Only they would.

These are not the original Vanilla graphics. Turn the graphics slider up, you have updated graphics.
The character models are the old ones though. I guess they already tried a toggle for new/old models when they were introduced and it didn’t work? I dunno.
EQ2 has two character model options, you could check which models you wanted to show, for each race. Only show the updated models you wanted, not sure why WoW is having a hard time with it in retail.

Nobody is saying you can’t. If you make a thread asking for classic models in retail, I promise I won’t post in it trying to make an argument for why they shouldn’t.

Can’t wait to see more threads about what else people want in Classic. Keep posting those game feature requests like everyone did in retail.
People been asking for it since its been removed. No luck.
We were supposed to be able to keep the gritty, much preferred, models of Vanilla, going forward in modern. But Blizz went back on that and now everyone has to play with the updated Pixar graphics.
I wouldn’t care if it actually was toggle-able, but it likely wouldn’t - see Blizzards track record. And if there ever were updates, graphics would be last on my list.
