[UPDATED NOV 28] Support a Streamer on Twitch and Earn the Ichabod Pet

This would’ve been preferable.

Bummer, the streamers I wanted to support didn’t make the list.

As a small streamer on the list, this is the way. Hell, I don’t even really “make money”, I just do it for fun.

It’s a big deal for the streamers to have this chance; either from monetary support or from viewership. If watching streamers is not your thing, ok. If you want to support streamers, there’s a lot to choose from. Gaming companies have been using drops to promote their products for a long time, and in this instance they are also giving WoW creators a boost. The number of streamers chosen is quite remarkable, from growing streamers to established. I obviously think it’s a good thing (I’m on the list). Be mindful that a lot of streamers on there don’t make a lot of money, they do it because they have a community who love to chat with them as they game, and just chill. Everyone to their own, but from me, it’s a “thank you Blizz” moment.

So, instead of paying $10 to the blizz store for a battle pet I get to gift 2 subs to a streamer, giving Twitch $5 and giving the streamer $5? I honestly like this a lot. I know a vast majority of streamers make very little income from their streams so this is a nice incentive to help out the smaller people :3

I don’t mind watching streamers to get the pets, but I’d like to echo what others have stated.

Why was this not a charity incentive?

Don’t streamers already make money by running ads for viewers? I watched a streamer for the dragon kite pet, and the streamer ran ads. So they’re getting paid. Why do they need me to buy a subscription for emotes which I will not use?

Is this supposed to be a handout from Blizzard to incentivize streamers to play their game after Blizzard threw them a bone?

I’m hoping this is a test from ATVI marketing to see if this somehow produces revenue for the game. But I’d prefer buying something knowing some or all of the proceeds will go the charity, which they did in the past for some pets.

Gonna have to go through this list.

i feel like they just said “f%& you” to people streaming from South America, still gonna support my guildies and other players streaming but really suck to be streaming WoW for so long, waiting for something like this for blizz to literally screwing people because of regions

Is Asmongold not on the list?!

I don’t think so.

Why a streamer and not a charity!?!?!! They get tons of $$ and have jobs too so they don’t need it as much as charity does.

Most of these have little to no Subs. So I guess they are the Charity.

I have food to buy, thanks.

Yeah but these so called streamers also have jobs to support their family or life, so they don’t need it…for most its a fun side hobby or hustle, not a full time job. Realisticly, most aren’t going to make a living as a streamer like asmon, pokimane, Rich, xQc, etc…

Give money to strangers online and receive a pet that has straw for brains.
Seems fitting.

At least the list of streamers are small time people.

Which makes me more likely to gift subs to them and not the bigger streamers.

Good point…there is 1 streamer who mainly plays FFXIV, was also a wow player before and has returned for DF but, is also a Ukraine refugee who’s house is gone and she has had problems getting her money from Ukraine so I might give the subs to her. She’s part of the drops thankfully.

Weird promotion… buy 2 twitch subs and get a pet?

They stream, they are streamers

At the end of the day though you don’t know that, and they ARE providing entertainment, for free I might add, so what harm is it to support them?

This is all the more reason to support them. Maybe they’re trying to build up to make a living off of it?

Not really. Last year another MMO offered a mount for 4 subs, and it was ridiculously successful. Drops have been around for a while, either from viewership or subs.
