Blizzard, you really need to stop with the delays on flying.
Flying makes people engage MORE with the game, and do MORE content.
Flying is not a substitute for content. Quests do not magically complete when you fly over them, dungeons do not magically clear when you fly over the entrance. I know you guys THINK they do, but they do not.
Flying gets you TO the content. Thatâs why people want it.
Flying needs to be obtainable IN THE LAUNCH PATCH for future expansions. Add a Pathfinder requirement that can be completed in the launch patch, or whatever hoops you wish for us to jump through.
But flying needs to be obtainable in the launch patch. PLEASE. Do it for us, do it for you.

If leveling actually mattered, then it âgold at maxâ would make sense.
But it doesnât. Leveling is a nothing burger today compared to what it was before. So now âlevelingâ mean reaching 40 renown, which today, with the catch up mechanic, is still pretty trivial.
My Warrior finished the starting campaign to choose his covenant a couple of weeks ago, and heâs well past 30 renown already, and heâs not even focused on it. I could get 3 more in 40m of play by clearing out the callings I have right now, plus he has two wings of LFR left this week.
Whatever the price will be for flying, it will be cheap.
If itâs gold, it will be super cheap, simply because gold rains from the sky right now. It could be 10K and folks wonât even blink at that. It wonât be 100K or something silly.
My toons earn their keep rather then being fed charity from my mains, and 10K is nothing in SL.
Whatever the currency is, even if itâs âflight tokensâ I bet itâs less than 2 weeks of calendar time to get it if you had to get it all. More nothing.
honestly Iâm just hoarding anima at this point, I donât care about the upgrades at all so Iâd rather hold it for now and see what their gonna cook up next with the game.

This is what I am going to do on all of my 60 toons. Of course they might create a new currency since they like to do that too. That would be our luck. They do not like people to be prepared.

Three weeks for flying because each week you unlock 2 Renown Ranks so in Week 3, youâll unlock flying at Renown Rank 45. Yet, in BFA 8.2, ppl were flying in 3-5 days through rep grind, average player through normal rep took about 1.5 weeks. They make it seem like weâre really going to be able to fly in no time despite not being gated behind reputation. If they bumped up the renown rank accumulation to 3 each week, then 2 weeks wouldnât be that bad. Players had the high hopes for Blizzard to FIX the flying dilemma. Iâm sure they calculated the average time players got to fly in BFA to Shadowlands. Seems about right about 1.5-2 weeks, but theyâve increased it another week instead of making it Rank 44 which would be Week 2.
Who cares if we get the ability to fly on Week 1, weâve been waiting to fly for MONTHS now, with even more time gating than previous expansion, they are increasing the time to fly instead of reducing the time gating to fly. You may as well put it back on Reputation to fly, b/c weâll be able to fly within Week 1 instead of 3 weeks. GG Blizzard, really thinking with the Giga Brain over there

I personally prefer doing the renown. Sure, in essence they are the same thing, but at least we unlock some stuff while leveling our renown.

Inflation.
4k gold was a lot back in the WLK days (when it was 5k if you didnât have the rep). Now, 4k gold is a completely trivial amount, that most players can pay for out of their proverbial pocket change, and thatâs not even getting into the concept of Tokens.
Youâre going to get Renown no matter what, and most people are going to do the storyline anyway. Having flying be so early in that is more than expected.
Pathfinder is dead. Why canât you just enjoy that fact?
spam instances without touching questing zones until max level then buy flight.
Renown is gated? This will take me way longer than I thought.
