OK!! So I guess ima noob to this whole earning flying thing. Bc Ive literially never earned flying before. I always just ran everywhere on ground untill flying was free. Anywho⌠I wanna make sure i got this right. We EARN flying on 1 toon in 1 cov and we open it for ALL our toons?? (Meaning we earn it and can just log into all our other toons and go buy it?? Or is it more like we have to complete this on EVERY cov and every toon? Im so confused. >.<
There is a degree of confusion. It seems to indicate that doing the required activities on one character will earn an item that allows ALL characters to fly in Shadowlands â however, it also seems to say that they have to pay something to fly, ie
âUpon completing a quest contained within the âThe Last Sigilâ storyline, youâll be rewarded with Memories of Sunless Skies. This consumable item allows all characters on your account to purchase the Riding Skill needed to fly within the four main Shadowlands zones!â.
âpurchase the Riding Skillâ is the bit that is providing all the confusion (not to mention the concern).
So until this is clarified, nobody is really sure what it means.

Right that all kinda threw me off too. Specially the Cov parts. So wondering if we ahve to do this is all 4 covs? or can it just be in our mains? I dont know. Bliz needs to clear this up.
No, it appears you only need to do it one character. You donât have to do it on different Covenants. So you just do it on whatever toon you like best from whichever of your characters has reached Renown 40 and completed the current Covenant campaign.
HAHA yes I have personally completed the campaign in 2 covs and maxed in renown on 1, will be maxed in kyrian next week. But have yet to get into the Nerco or Venthyr. Hints why I was bit concerned. Was wondering if i needed to Rush to complete these before 9.1. Yikes⌠Thats alot of mount, raid and mythic time lost D: lol
No need to be rushing, 9.1 is quite a few weeks away. But one character is enough.
I just wish theyâd clarify this flight thing because its worrying me. If they do institute a system of having to buy a license to fly in the Shadowlands on alts, then most of my toons will be shoved in a corner somewhere. Iâm just hoping they wouldnât be that idiotic.

Oh lord no kidding! Every drop of anima I get is currently in use. Ive done SOOO much in NightFae and Im STILL having collect anima just to finish my mount, pet and armor collections! Its insane! Granted Im pretty good at getting 5k anima in a few days but geez I got like 12 toons. D: That would be brutal.

Stop gating flying. It doesnât even matter anymore.
Also donât understand whatâs so confusing. You finish the quest line on one toon, then the ability to buy the riding skill unlocks for all toons so you donât have to keep doing the quest line. I mean, having to actually purchase it with each character is completely stupid, but itâs not confusing.
Whatâs confusing about that?

What the heck is a wolf serpent?
Especially when minimal effort is put into said content.
Iâm pretty easy to please, but Shadowlands is the expansion Iâve played the least amount of since I started a decade and a half ago.
The zones are pretty, but thatâs about it. Nothing to do as a solo casual player. Torghast? Yeah, no rewards for boring monotonous content? No thanks.
World quests are fewer and even worse rewards than Legion and Battle for Azeroth combined.
Theyâve put zero effort into Shadowlands and it shows big time.

The cynic in me is counting on a ridiculous gold price for flying. Also, given how broken up the expansion is, itâs not really going to mean much.

I havenât played the PTR or anything but what is it you need to purchase flying once you unlock the ability to purchase it. Is it Gold, anima, some new currency or what?

Probably just a reskin of the hunters Legion class hall mount knowing blizz 
Two weeks is a pretty rough month.
Right now it doesnât have a cost. That could be because itâs not going to cost anything and this announcement is worded poorly, or it could be because theyâve decided to charge and either havenât updated the PTR or intentionally made it free there so folks could test flight. Things change between PTR and Live all the time, though.
Itâs a reskin of the cloud serpents, actually. They were revealed during BlizzcOnline.

Theyâre waiting to see how mad people get about it before they respond, as usual. Otherwise, they wouldâve changed the wording in the article or had a blue clarification already. Theyâve done this a handful of other times on truly unpopular changes, just kind of slipped a mention into a news post and then sat back and waited to see if people threatened to cancel their subs en masse.
