Since there’s conflicting information I think it best not to pick a side and just wait and see. There will absolutely be a thread (several as per GD custom) if there’s a cost though
Hopefully it gets cleared up soon.
The wording is pretty straight forward that we have to buy something after we unlock it.
Maybe an intern wrote it up and goofed?
Either way, the people defending it potentially having a cost and a timegated unlock are absolutely insane.
Saying “but you had to buy it before!” is the worst justification when the only wait was reaching level cap, or close to it.
Buy or unlock, not both!
If this is the case then as someone said, they worded it very poorly, and in a manner that would cause drama and generate more hate towards them.
It also demonstrates (as someone else mentioned) the growing amount of distrust their customers have in them. Maybe Blizzard needs to change out their communication staff.
Whoa whoa whoa.
We get an item that lets us purchase flying?
Wut…
Purchase… PURCHASE?.. Pathfinder…Purchase… . These do not go together Blizz.
Let us buy it from day 1 or unlock it acct wide with pathfinder… not some crap where pathfinder LETS us purchase it.
Here’s hoping that it a typo or misquote… cause that will go over like a lead balloon…
I was hoping for a date; but maybe one is coming soon if they’re posting reminders about the renown requirement.
I find the " you’ll instead earn flying in Shadowlandsearly" to be quite hilarious. Is “early” the new “soon” for Blizz? It may be coming in 9.1 but it’ll still be close to how long it took to unlock under Pathfinder - 8 months if it releases in July.
Lack of flying early (truly early, not Blizz early) makes me lose interest and just go back to older content.
Yes, players wanted to go back to buying flying at level cap from launch, instead of being timegated by some arbitrary achievement later in the expansion. We didn’t ask to have both the time gating behind an achievement, AND the cost of buying flight on every alt.
You saw the error of your ways I see Blizz but how about… maybe…
Design with flying in mind…
This push back against flying at cap level is getting tiresome. You limit the open world so much with these silly decisions instead of fleshing the world out and incorporating/designing with flying in mind. It’s a fantasy game after all.
This latest post re flying sounds like it negates the wowhead and wowpedia earlier posts re 9.1 prerequisites for main character and skips for alts for Torghast/Twisting Corridors questline and Peering Darkness questline. Also am I reading it now right that the alts will each just need to finish the covenants introductory questline and unlock the Runecarver to begin instead of the skip idea from earlier posts.
