You speak from a position that represents a community that is killing this game. I hope you are happy with it; because we are where we are, and we have what we have, because of that mentality. This game has died because of players thinking they deserve everything just because they pay a sub. Get rid of that mentality and you might actually earn a thing or two.

Oh, I’ve earned plenty. The difference is, I don’t trash people who hadn’t had the chance to earn it too, because it got removed for arbitrary reasoning just to give you a warm fuzzy feeling of being exclusive, when infact it wasn’t something that really took effort to earn. It was just done to make you feel special, like handing out a participation trophy. This game died, because it caters to people who share your mentality, and results in half the game being scrapped over the course of time due to it needed to remain “exclusive”.
And what exclusive aspect is that? A PVP season title? An AOTC achievement?
No… a mount and some cosmetic effects you had to grind by farming gold or doing mindlessly easy quests that were just horribly time consuming in nature. Your claims are baseless and that makes this an even more disgusting display of elitism and selfishness than I initially thought.

Sorry you can’t get your essences but RNG is RNG. I’d like to stop going over to Azsuna and grinding paragons too but RNG can be cruel.
Unlike mage tower/artifact appearances in Legion essences aren’t giving you any souvenirs, the only prestige they’ll offer is that title and I personally think the people willing to grind that out can have it.
Having a few exclusive things actually rewards the people who participated in the content current, with all the catch up in WoW that’s a nice gesture that hurts very few people.
They’ve put in the bad luck protection now its on the players.

Well, I get your point with the Mage Tower, and I do agree on that one. But the key difference is, that I also mentioned before and most people conveniently disregard in my post, is that the Mage Tower was something that required skill to earn. You had to be able to defeat the boss in the tower. The essences are just RNG drops. So, it’s like a lottery basically? What skill is involved in that? Yet it gets removed, and that’s where my complaint comes in. The bad luck protection is nice, if it made any noticeable difference. Perhaps some people have had better luck with that than I have, but as for me? Still farming, sadly…
If you had your way nobody but you would have anything.

Skill is important, true, and I do prefer skill based challenged 9 out of 10 times for sure.
But while you see it as luck I think of it more as time investment, which used to be how most MMOs rewarded everything. The person who could play the most got the shiny stuff and all the power while the more casual people were left behind.
The person who puts in more time gets more paragons and thus more chances.
I know that’s pretty outdated now and people expect more modern systems/quicker rewards these days but I dunno… it’s kind of a nice throwback to have a challenge that isn’t skill but more of an “old-school” MMO throwback of just putting in the time and putting your nose to the grindstone.
That would be the easiest way to do it, haha~ I’ve just been doing it on Sunne and once Legion ended forgetting the mission table completely (lazy). Have just the one left but its been… really fussy.

People who got all the mounts did it not by grinding world quests, but by leveling an army of alts with fully maxed out followers, and running rep token missions on those alts. Even during Legion, when someone posted that they were burning out running world quests to get paragon mounts, we would tell them that sounded horrible and they were doing it wrong.
It will take a while to get fully maxed out followers on alts, if you haven’t done that. But Legion rep tokens are BoA once your alt is exalted.
I disagree. I’m as casual as they come. I just play too much. Setting up an army of alts to complete some almost impossible objective is my area of expertise.
Last night I got Midnight from Return to Karazhan. It’s a 1.7% drop. 7% of the player population has that mount.
I did it in 3 weeks. /shrug
Yeah, but it has to be practical. I mean I’ve been grinding reputation for the content since it was released in the patch and still… nothing
Then it gets removed and it feels like time wasted now.
It gets to a point where the time investment has to be reasonable and somewhat realistic, if you know what I mean.

I would say putting in the time to level an army of alts is still a form of time investment, definitely. Even if you bought all the boosts that just converting your working hours into WoW hours.
In my example I was thinking more of Vanilla casuals or how things are in more dated MMOs like XI.
Yes, I think a better fix would be somehow letting the Rank 4’s you have collected convert to at least some sort of reward but I can’t really think what it could be off the top of my head…
That would help it feel at least a little less bad!
Just wanted to add for anyone who needs paragon mount tips, that this is definitely a viable way to do it, but you can also do it fairly quickly on just one toon if you take advantage of the rep bonus event going on now. I got all except one of the Legion paragon mounts on my main during the last rep event, and I finally got the last one during this rep event. None of my alts have finished their class halls, so only my main had mission board rep tokens. Just funneled all of the tokens to the main, did the emissaries when they were up, and opened paragon caches every day until I scored the mounts.

The new expansion Shadowlands release date is Oct 27 2020. Blizz usually has a pre-patch period at least a month before, nearest Tuesday to that is Sept 29 at which time the Brutosaur will not be available (cept via black market AH).
So the “Heritage” achievements will not be going away?
You will still be able to get your heritage armor if that is what you are asking.
Bump, wondering if we’ll be able to loot conflict & strife r4 from pvp chest on patch day, if not then technically the achievement is already unobtainable if you dont have that essence right now
The article says “all Rank 4 Essences can no longer be earned once Shadowlands strikes.” doesn’t say once the pre-patch comes… and then theres “In the same vein as Rank 4, the achievement Hertz Locker which grants the Rank 4 Essence Vision of Perfection will become unobtainable, but earlier during pre-patch.” which implies this particular essence is unobtainable, but not the other ones? Some blue please state it plainly which are going away if not all.

PAC… I have to agree with Olkrus. This has been a gripe from players for years. Don’t remove the mounts, make them rare drops. Don’t remove titles make it so you can’t earn them over a certain level differential; like you can’t earn it if you’re more the 5-10 levels or more the xxx amount of gear score too high for the raid.
With the advent of Timewalking events, titles and mounts tied to old dungeons and raids should have been made available because you are scaled down to revisit the dungeon/raid at proper level. You get no real advantages.
In the current instance it again continues to make ZERO sense to remove ANYTHING because every zone/ dungeon/ raid etc. is getting nerfed to the same levels. You no longer get an advantage of being 20 levels over the content or having a gear score that is hundreds of points over what is needed. Everything is being literally flatlined, so in reality they should be adding back all the mounts, titles and crap they have taken out so far.
