(this post is a running update. Latest thoughts/Info at the bottom). I’m picking at this while I do my actual day job.
I did a clean install macOS 14.3 (23D56) this morning on my MacBook Pro 16" m3 to see if I could gather some logs/info on why Battle.net was having that notorious 45% sticking problem and believe it or not, it works now. No need to tinker with it.
The fault where Battle.net downloads WOW Classic or frankly any game on macOS and it freezes at initializing still exists however.
Of note - there is an app now called “Relauncher” which asks for - but does not assign itself full disk access now. I assume this app is to kill -HUP Battle.net and Agent processes.
Currently I am unable to figure out how to download WOW Classic SOD. In this current update, none of the previous solutions work. The game just simply refuses to be downloaded.
It appears they pushed the Battle.net Beta client for macOS out as a current version because there is no more beta to opt into.
