Update Orgrimmar

IMO the original Orgrimmar (when Thrall was Warchief) without all the metal, chains, and spikes was so much better and thematically felt like the Horde. I want it back! (please)

Would you like to see Orgrimmar return to its vanilla style with updated graphics?

I would like to see a new Horde Capital built in an actually hospitable location that reflects all the races of the horde.

(For those who don’t know Durotar and by association Orgrimmar is now completely reliant on imports as not only does nothing grow but the water has become polluted and toxic due to the Goblins.)

I think Orgimmar should be purged and have something a bit fresher.

How can you even consider that? There’s got to be some other way!

Fine. We can hire a construction worker and have them tear the city down and redo it.

Vanilla orc architecture (orchitecture?) was vastly better than the Cata garbage.

It’s also high time that Orgrimmar had proper docks and not just one sad little pier.

Orgrimmar is horrible, it feels like extremely humid and the current Orcitecture is severely outdated.

I have to agree that the main seat of the Horde needs to be somewhere else, that allows the people who live in Orgrimmar a chance to at least grow food, and that would only happen if the Goblins were banished from entering the relocated Orgrimmar unless it’s for official Horde council meetings.

While you’re revamping the city, remember to change the music back to the classic horns and war drums.

Honestly, I wish blizzard would stop making us go back to the old zones for events. Every time they do, ‘revamp this zone….’ Requests bubble up from the depths of GD. :slightly_smiling_face:

There’s more to be done:

Orgrimmar terraformed. Much like they did in Desolace, druids and shaman could ‘nature-fy’ the city. If it were greener, it would be keener.

Suramar phased. A version of the city with no demons, and and the residents/guards made to no longer be hostile. Perhaps even have the vendors in that fantastic market sell things.

Gilneas reclaimed. As Suramar above, remove the feral worgen and make it inhabitable.

Won’t ever happen, as Blizzard wouldn’t feel it would be worth the time and/or feel like they would see a return on their investment, but…

  1. Revamp every major faction capital to have it be on the same scale/magnitude/detail as Suramar
  2. Go back through and give every zone in every expansion the same kind of vertical height/depth as the zones in Dragonflight have.
  3. Stretch all the zones to make them bigger (like the zones in dragonflight are)
  4. add dragonriding to mounts that share the same model/skeleton as the dragon riding mounts and make it usable in all of the zones in every expansion
  5. make zone features more prominent (awe/wow factor), including but not limited to
  • castles
  • keeps
  • forts
  • raid/dungeon entrances
  • rivers
  • dams
  • towers
  • etc…
  1. make the zones affected by the seasons.
Imagine places that are perpetual winter (Dun morogh, alterac, winterspring, etc…) being thawed out, possibly even green/lush in the late spring and summer months.
Desert zones during “rainy/moonsoon” season being flooded, turning marshy or even oases springing up. Zones that are perpetually green (Elwynn Forest, Loch Modan, etc…) being coverd in snow, lakes/streams frozen over) etc…
Maybe this even changes where/what/how many of certain mob type(s) appear or don’t appear.
  2. add some weather effects!!
  • haze/sandstorms in desert zones
  • blizzard (like the AB event kind of blizzard) in snowy zones
  • heavy rain/mist (like wetlands in classic kind of rain)
  • fog
  • cinder/firestorms
  • etc…

Make night time actually dark (like in the hunter artifact quest, survival i believe, when you’re chilling outside with Rexxar

Honestly, I wish blizzard would start making new content for old zones. Every time we go somewhere new, ‘use this wasted asset…’ Requests bubble up from the depths of GD. :slightly_smiling_face:

The whole world (game) needs an update in the style of the ‘Reckoning’ cinematic.

Yeah, preferably by detonating a mana bomb.

Make Suramar or Silvermoon the new capital city.

I prefer my apocalyptic city destroying events come in the form of a giant fire.

Let us fly in Silvermoon City first.

There is only one way to update Orgrimmar: You have to find an open-minded Alliance player, but still has the opinion that Orgrimmar is “nothing but mud huts.”

When you can get THAT PERSON to say “ok wow… that looks AMAZING!!!” … THEN you can update Orgrimmar.

Until then, we’re just going to get another iteration of spikes and teenage angst. We need something that stands out, and artistically and architectually PROVES that the Horde is the better faction.

Because although the “Org is just mud huts” is a stupid, sophomoric insult, it’s not entirely wrong. It may not be “mud huts”, but it doesn’t properly display the might of the Horde, either.

I don’t want to just move the buildings around. It needs changed. It needs UPDATED.
