Update or delete the Beginners Guide in download clients?

Has Blizzard thought about either updating or deleting the Begiiners Guide pdf located here?

It is from Brady Games and is current up to MOP.

Blizzard has other guides for new players available that are more up to date than this. Even Wowhead, etc are as well.

Is that really still needed there?

Lol. I took one look at that giant thing and never opened it again. It’s still on my PC somewhere…

Who the hell thinks a 121 page pdf is good for a “beginner’s guide” like holy hell

It’s not even formatted in a way that makes it easy to look at. It looks like it’s trying to emulate DnD manuals or something despite WoW being much simpler than that.

wow that really is outdated.

You can tell how old it is by looking at the sexy female model in the ‘Human’ section with her big busty assets accentuated and her entire midriff delightfully exposed. Today, she would be put in some sort of huge modern Jaina-esque granny dress.

And check out that female Orc in the Warrior section. Hubba Hubba…

I just skimmed through it a bit and noticed this tidbit:

Despite the actual in-game tutorial pop-ups still actively telling you to click your abilities on your hotbar, only mentioning keybinds if you hit the “more info” button on the pop-up. (at least last I checked, which was probably late WoD or early Legion)

The old Brady Games books where a lot bigger than that.

Try to have one of those open and referring to it and playing at the same time.

The hardcover version of the MOP is 432 pages
Warlords 400 pages
Cataclysm 496 pages

The 121 page one looks small now…

Seems like more of a novelty than a truly useful thing to have at that point.

Back there there was not things like Wowhead, etc to get information from.

We actually had to read a gaming guide to get the information.

I mean, originally when it comes to game guidebooks, sure. But not the WoW ones. Before WoWhead there was Thottbot. And… Alakazam or something?

Don’t forget Elitist Jerks

It was a lot harder to find information about WOW, other games etc than it is now.

There are some of us that had to go to a BBS or Compuserve to get information. And even then it was not that great/vast as it is now.
