Ok so I can now confirm that yes, we can solo Carapace and N’zoth. But on normal and LFR only.
For Carapace, you need to be careful to not get hit by the Carapace beam during p2 or your sanity will go poof. Not an easy task since he’ll target you whilst your slowed by the ground pimples.
For N’zoth, you needd to be careful with the swirlies during the mind gate phases or your sanity will quickly poof too.
Note that you will never be able to solo heroic or mythic due to the 2 person mechanic requirements. Not until blizz deletes certain mechanics from the fight.

This seems like too much thinking for a raid from 2 xpacs ago, why can’t we just go in and one shot the boss? Even on mythic it should be a one shot. I miss when old bosses were loot piñatas like they were in legion, hope they bring that possibility back.

It should be like that but it’s not. Its a big part of the reason why the mog running community has died out this expac. Unfortunately I am one of the very few left with the requisite items and mechanical knowledge of the fights to still be able to do it. But there’s less and less of us as time goes by and blizz does nothing.
Putting together a mythic N’zoth cear group for example can take hours due to the cape requirement as it appears most people who played BfA have stopped playing the game.
Cape? I didn’t play much during the expansion and I’m solo in the raid now and at carapace of N’zoth. He keeps despawning when I hit him…what is this cape I need?
Last 2 bosses cannot be touched without it.

normal and lfr are worthless tho all the good stuff is on mythic which should be easily soloable lol
Some LFR and normal mogs are better, pets and in some rare examples some good items drop from lower difficulties, like the Antorus blue scythe and fire sword drop in LFR and normal.
It’s really only the mog colours and mounts that come from mythic, so with that said, boooo, I want solo N’Zoth on mythic please Blizzard.

There are some cases where the LFR version is the superior version. Take LFR ToS for example. The purple version for the pallet set is so much better it’s not even funny. Same with the norm version of BoD weapons etc.
As for mythic BfA, unfortunately none of that is soloable. Some bosses cannot even be solo’d on LFR let alone mythic. This is because blizz still hasn’t gone through all the BfA raids and modified the mechanics like what they did for the legion raids. If Blizz hadn’t modified the legion raids, you wouldn’t be able to clear them either to this day.

I’m about to get the cloak and was wondering if it is still relevant/necessary to level up the cloak to 15 at this point. I wonder how much the sanity will really affect me now.
…Nvm…I found out that I need to rank up the cloak lol. Mechanics still outplay my damage as enhancement shaman.
Hey, just thought I’d say I just soloed Mythic Carapace as a 516 outlaw rogue without equipping my legendary cloak. Basically just went in and tried to avoid standing in stuff. About to attempt the last boss.
Last boss wrecked me, but I don’t really know the mechanics lol.
Carapace is relatively easy as you just need to clear both sides to trigger his final phase.
N’zoth requires you to enter 2 mind gates (purple aoe on the floor) and kill the big add (Psycus), then run back to your body and click it or you will get trapped and die. If you don’t, the boss will remain immune to damage. Also on mythic you need to click on the heart forge portal door thing that spawns near the last phase of the boss fight to kill another big add and then port back to N’zoth.
As you are solo you don’t need to worry about not being able to go into multiple mind gates or losing all your sanity etc. But be warned: All that changes if you attempt the fight with more than 5 people as all the original mechanics reactivate. E.g. you will not be able to enter multiple mind gates etc.
