Update on AMD shader cache issue?

Hey tech support folks

Has the issue with recent AMD cards and WoW been resolved? I went through a rebuild on my wife’s PC and two AMD video cards before buying a $130 Nvidia video card to get her some stability. I have two AMD cards sitting idle now as I don’t want to go through this guesswork again. If it has been resolved, can you provide graphic settings and driver revision known to work.

Thanks
Shadow

Hey Shadowshiv,

Sorry for missing your original post about this. I did some digging and I believe I found the AMD shader issue you are referrencing.

There was an issue back in WoW patch 8.1 that was causing Error #134 crashes for users with AMD cards, and it turned out to be a bug due to old shader caches on AMD devices. The workaround at the time for most users experiencing this was to disable the AMD shader cache in Radeon Settings.

I can confirm that this bug was resolved and we haven’t seen any new reports of it since patch 8.2 or 8.2.5.

Using the latest AMD drivers (19.10.1 Optional) should work just fine now.
