Update Honor Level System

Find a better use for honor levels. Remove them or, give more cosmetic rewards beyond 500, do something with it to make earning honor worth the effort.

IMO, honor level 1000 should give you instant cast mount on any mount year round and game wide.

that’s a multi year grind, so the QQ from the pve side of the game would be immense, but so would the participation in all forms of pvp content.

No one gets angry over nonsense like that

you know what would happen?
pvp premades would bloom. a swarm of carebears would infest all epics, making them unplayable. all those semicasual raiders would band together in their little communities and start farming everyone who is not doing the same

your average pvper is a better player than your average raider. but you will also have reality set in around honor level 50 or so that this isn’t a grind your guild is going to get accomplished in a season with part time group activities.

As opposed to now?

no, of course not
in addition to now

Other than the abusers very few people are actually at 500 and above. Makes no sense to add even more rewards to a system most will never reach.

I’m curious how much do you play that you earned 1376 honor levels? :astonished: Did you do a lot honor quests back in Legion? I admit that my wimpy 169 levels are also very low compared to average probably, but I’ve been playing somewhat sparsely since they were introduced in Legion.

Blizzard could add some sort of seasonal battle pass with additional PvP rewards, but they’d have to be really, really careful to implement this in a way that does not promote degenerate behavior.

The last thing we want to do is incentivize more players to sync queues so they can roflstomp pugs, farm easy wins/HKs, and quickly get all the battle pass rewards.

Or give players another reason to afk/bot.

I would rather them update BG achievements beyond what we currently have (100 wins, X-kills etc). I havent gotten a bg achievement in 15yrs in some bgs.

I think they had a blue post regarding why they weren’t adding any more kill achievements and it was basically that people will resort to degenerate methods of acquiring them, and in general they’ve moved away from such achievements.

Would probably be better to just scrap it. Even the rewards they already have are underwhelming.

Plus the fact that it’s often used to unfairly judge players (on both ends).

If there is going to be a new system, I would want to see it grant the privilege to own Player Housing and the higher rank you go the bigger & more variety of assets you could own. This will motivate me to push harder for more.

Always wanted to have a cottage on the snowy alpine of Alterac Valley overlooking the ongoing conflicts below, which would complement very well with freshly brewed hot tea. :teapot: :tea:

Or at least grant more dance emote!

We need less reasons for people to premade in epics and sit AFK at BS all game, not more.

It’s taken me almost 2 decades of solo Q, a few bgs a play sesssion while doing other stuff, to get to Honor Level 411. I forget when the Honor Levels became a thing, but near 2 decades is how long Ive been random solo Q’in. Normal play 500 Honor Level reward is fine (and my next goal, sometime next year I think).

At one point I wanted more, but the fact is the others here who mentioned degenerate game play to maximize kills/honor per hour or whatever are correct. There are too many people who somehow enjoy endless roflstomps. I don’t like it when premades end up on my team, but, they are allowed to count down together according to Blizz, and I don’t mind fighting them.

Maybe Blizz will come up with some good ideas here, but I agree that more rewards for higher honor level are not a good idea with current wow pvp gaming norms.

20$ a month (on top of your sub) to get Premium Queue status, and a 15% rating earned boost.

Queue Syncing would become the standard, but I dont think primarily pve folks would start a 1000 honor level journey at all. Way too many years of gameplay for someone that doesn’t like pvp to participate over a few seconds of cast time spared now and then.

Nobody needs premades for honor level or pvp achievements.

I have every bg achievement and 2k HL without ever running in full premades. Its probably easier in premades but nobody ever became great by doing things the easy way.

So its possible the problem is most people are just bad and require premades to function so thats why they are in them.

There are very few things in game or out that cant be accomplished through personal power and influence.
