Update from Blizz

HOUSING

  • Lighting is now available outdoors! You can now add lights to your plot. Lighting Decor will have certain restraints outdoors that they do not have indoors.
    • Two lights cannot overlap and will become unplaceable when too close. Light indicator radius visuals will appear when the lights are too close and will turn red when overlapping.
  • Over 100 new common decor can be found on existing Neighborhood vendors.
  • Known Issue: We are aware of the floor-changing bug and looking to hotfix it in the very near future.

I only see 3 items under Lighting that are placeable outdoors. I don’t see any new items on the neighborhood vendors either. Is this a post from the future?!?

Did you read it at the link? It’s on the ptr

So no fix then until it goes live some time in the future.
LAME.

It’s not available “now” in 12.0.5 (Live); it’s available “now” on 12.0.7 (PTR).

I mean they said it in clear English; 100 NEW items on the Neighborhood vendors. However, this is Public Test Realm stuff so unless you login to PTR you won’t see anything until this goes live in 12.0.7.

The floor-changing bug will likely be hotfixed in 12.0.5 (Live) before 12.0.7 is released.

The Gilied Vigil Posts are still not placeable outside, am i missing something or am i just out of luck?

So probably not for another 8 weeks since that is blizzard’s patch cycle.

you’re all welcome.

That’s the cadence for major patches from 12.0 to 12.1… 12.0.5 and 12.0.7 are minor patches that are planned before summer (21-Jun-2026 which is in fact 7.5 weeks out, but 12.0.7 was implied to be late spring, not the day before summer. Guess we’ll see when 12.0.7 drops and we can count how many days before 21-Jun it ended up being.

Good news. Didn’t see this before posting a similar topic. Deleted my topic.

Blizzard will probably consider Summer to be anything between June 20th and September 20th. So we’ll see patch 12.1.0 sometime in that time frame. I am guessing that it will drop 2 weeks before Blizzcon…

Great news on the Lighting outside.

I have a few illicit lights still in place that I don’t want to move so even if they don’t raise the budget outside, at least I will feel more free to change things around again.

On the new decor, I’m hoping a lot of it is the datamined plant and rock stuff. I know that not everyone is into those things but we really do need more variety.

Plus - they acknowledged the floor bug finally. That was all people were asking for regarding the floors was for Blizz to acknowledge the issue and confirm that they have people working on it.

I took a look at the PTR vendors from both neighborhoods, and I’m not seeing hardly anything. Some hay, some tools, a handful of low effort ropes that I don’t think were there before? Anyway, a couple of planters and some animal troughs… That’s the stuff that stuck out as new to me. I don’t think there’s new plants, and I am highly questioning this claim of a hundred new items.

Nothing related to Elves as far as I can see, except maybe a bathtub. Gonna look great using folk themed animal troughs for mounts that I don’t have access to in a Night Elf themed home for sure. Woo hoo.

Right this moment I cannot add a light that used to be in my plot just fine. Rip in Peace Brazier of Elune you made a fine moonwell while you lasted.

The line about the lights working outdoors is for PTR. The change in game won’t come until the next patch I guess.

I’m aware, I’m just bemoaning something I used to have cannot be placed in the now.

Oh my bad. When I read it I thought it was talking about live.

I have 6 goblin string lights still in my set up. Tried to move one of them a little and it doesn’t allow you to move them. So at least there’s that. They’re still there and hoping they don’t disappear on me one day.

This refers to the PTR!

Yes, that’s what it says in the link.

I copied over my character data and my house transferred over, but the housing xp didn’t copy over. At the moment it thinks I’m level 1. I think it knows I’ve already completed the tutorial as it isn’t being offered, but it also isn’t allowing me to delete decor on the exterior.

I think the issue I’m having is my house exterior has 217/200 decor budget used, it might not be letting me delete decor because the final result would still exceed 200 budget. Is there a way to copy over the house xp so I can increase the exterior budget to 250?

Have this in my yard. Don’t dare touch it or any other lit objects they previously allowed before 12.0.5. They should have just left them alone if they are going to add lighting in 12.0.7 anyway.
