Many of our defensives are geared towards solos. As time has progressed, BM hunters are in more need of more damage reduction, mitigation tools, and/or faster refresh rates. Mythic+ and raids require something that mitigates massive multi-target and direct damage attacks. We have survival of the fittest, Aspect of the Turtle, and Exhilaration, but that is easily consumed due to the hunter’s lack of armor rating and damage reduction. Once the three abilities are used, the hunter is in a bad position, so they’re passed over once they get to 14+ mythic.
Bursting shot is more of a survival hunter ability, so it’s almost pointless to a BM hunter unless they’re out and about. It has no mitigation effects.
Implosive Trap isn’t anything special and only prevents 1/2 a second of the enemies’ cast time. It feels useless, for the most part. No mitigation effects.
Binding Shot is helpful, but your tank has to be aware and pull the mob towards and through Binding Shot for it to work.
The aspect of the Cheeta and Disengage isn’t a mitigation tool, but it does help the player get out of tight scenarios.
Tranq shot is a horrific joke. It is only needed 1% of the time in raids and mythic+.
Intimidation is slightly useful. I can’t 100% bash on this ability. It sucks when something cannot be stunned.
Note: Vers helps very little. If you choose to have some vers, it reduces DPS output. Switching to a defensive pet is a horrible idea and significantly reduces DPS.
This is my observation of BM hunters currently regarding defensives, damage reduction and mitigation tools. How do you feel about BM hunters?
I can tell this is going to be a mixed relationship between the both of us. You like poking my messages. Ever since you and Snoozy saw me, it’s like a target on my back.
The mitigation cooldowns suck. Hunters take massive damage without vers, and mail armor means nothing. You can ask any healer, hunters aren’t easy to heal while trying to maintain 4 other players.
It is what it is. Blizz built the game mostly around PVP, at first, because of competitions. They integrated mythic+s and raids into competitive gameplay, so their making changes to satisfy that. Blizz still doesn’t know how to properly adjust BMs for PVE.
Now, Blizz kind of understands how to make small adjustments per PVP and/or PVE, but still have some issues figuring out what’s perfect.
Then some hunters must be stacking vers to survive. I’ve noticed in pugs, because I don’t have a tight-knit group, that about 85% don’t heal well. Some brought up hunters being hard to heal. That’s the information I received.
When I looked at someone’s report, which was displayed in the chat log, I obtained information that I received no damage that could have been avoided. So, mine was damaged by AoEs, and/or direct damage that was not caused by negligence to avoid mechanics.
You’re making no sense. The message is a bit choppy. Are you telling me PVE was the first to be streamed by Blizz?
I know what I saw. I was watching Swifty, the streamer, and PVP, which was the first competitive stream I had ever heard of for Blizzard. They said that PVP competitions were wrecking the game. People complained about players being carried and getting their PVP rating scores up. Eventually, Mythic+ and raid competitions came along. Then, people pointed out that elitism in World of Warcraft was killing the game. Elitists still are still wrecking the game.
Swifty does not and has never represented Blizz. The level of mental gymnastics you’ve gone thru in this thread to try and not come off as stupid as you are is astounding.
I said STREAMED. OMG, you said the other day that I don’t read and go off on tangents. I’m talking about legit, Blizzard streaming competitions. I thought you were going to pull some type of “The first competition they streamed was Overwatch.”
This is humorous. On top of that, immediately when you post, someone hearts your post. Who is your buddy that hugs every forum post you make or respond to?
If you stopped saying things that are untrue and show you have no idea what you are talking about then we wouldnt need to point out you dont know what you are talking about.
You’re trying to be literal. I brought up streamed, and you decided to dissect the message to make it individual subjects or different points to make some kind of valid response.
I just remember Overwatch and World of Warcraft. Nothing against Blizz, but I didn’t care about their other games.
