These mounts would be exceedingly valuable to players. I have already spotted a fair bit of interest for this around Wowhead, so why not add them to 9.2.5 and make them available to players in some way?
Almost definitely what will happen. There are still three unused MoP glad mount recolors too, in addition to the BFA ones. It’s odd that they made matching tabards for the SL ones and even put them in the game files (you could see them in the wardrobe for a while) and likely just will do nothing with them.
Very doubtful that solo shuffle gets a gladiator mount from SL when rated solo shuffle probably won’t exist until the next expansion if ever.
This. Most any non-glad can hope for is a wingless unarmored soul eater. Anything else just looks too much vs glad variants given the heavy emphasis on a dark body.
Also those glad mounts in bfa were dumped after development because the team didn’t want to have pvp gear (in the first half of a patch aka raid lifespan) be weaker than the tier so as to substantiate a growth in power needed as time goes on. Which would then make the second pvp season concurrent with the tier trending toward having gear strength noticeably ahead of pve. Aka blizz wants everyone to be neck and neck if you only do one thing. If you do all 3 pillars then of course you’ll be a better bis than others (regardless pvp gear having ilvl boost in pvp situation).
Reference to this is from the venruki/holinka interview from last year:
The mounts are going to rot unless they come up with some crazy way of reusing old unused mounts for a current expansion for arena alone (next to not happening), sort of like how we got alot of 3-8 year old mounts/mogs from islands in bfa.

Can’t tell you how sad this makes me. I never really PvP’d before season 2 but that mount was the mount of my dreams. I just believed it was impossible for me to even try for during the first 3/4 of the season and didn’t have enough time in the last week to push… Now I am having a lot of trouble living with that lol, after getting the plate Duelist set. Nothing else goes with it for a mount, and it seems like nothing else ever will.

More worst fears realized…but duly noted, ty for the reality check.

I would pretty much die to get such a thing. Like if anyone at Blizzard is listening, my god - please, please release this in some form lol. Hell, even as a pet. These mounts are we death knights’ heraldry, after all. We deserve them after so long.
We rode one of the unarmored drakes in the 9.2 intro, so I could see them adding those eventually
+1 to the above! Really need to generate more interest within the community for this…
A season 4 for Shadowlands could actually be pretty cool. If this is going to be a 14 month long patch or whatever insanity, I wouldn’t mind Blizzard splitting this “season” in two, cycling in new trinkets for PvP, a new M+ affix, bigger class balance changes and maybe even reworks to tier bonuses in some cases if they’re boring/bad.
I mean, that would be the idea, yeah. New PvP mount colors, new M+ KSM mount, new titles for various things. It’d be a new season without a new raid/zone and no ilvl bump. Just a refresher of content.
Raiders might be a little bit hanging, so maybe if you gave them a really hard Shrine of the Storms type of a raid, only a few bosses but a hard final challenge before the expansion is over. 6 months into 9.2 many raiders may still be progging Mythic anyways, so they wouldn’t need a whole new raid, but you’d get the buzz of a smaller “World First Race” with a small set of new bosses.
Actually I just finished the video Boostins timetagged above and it seems to very directly kill hope for a 9.2.5 season… Maybe our only hope is solo brawl somehow becoming a real thing by 9.2.5. Yeah. It really is just going to be red this season… Good lord it’s going to be immensely hard to let go of missing out on the season 2 mount. It already has been. If I had just set my sights on it from the beginning instead of writing it off as impossible…
