Unsustainably low supply

out of morbid curiosity I did quick math to see what it’d cost if I bought all the mats for a ruby-encrusted broach right now on my server. 12,126g and the overwhelming majority of that is large obsidian shards.

What is the average number of these evening coming out of each raid group? how many people in every single raid group need a considerable number of obsidian-infused thorium bars for this phases crafted boes?

I’m no stranger to new materials being high demand when they’re released, I get that, and I wasn’t even expecting to have one crafted until 3-4 weeks into AQ. My concern is that it seems to be an inappropriately low supply to demand.

Or perhaps I’m just doomin because this phase rollout has been littered with issues as a whole. I’m sure the gdkp sympathizers will be quick to say “this is what encourages more gold buying”. To that I say “yes, you’re absolutely right, but porque no los dos?”.

Kal out - hope to see you around, and have a good day.

It has been one week. Most the mat are getting used before being sold. Once being sold are being bought by those to lots of gold.
As time goes on, people will finish items, thus the need for them. More will collect them without the need for them and will start selling. The more that start selling the cheaper they will go.

Stuff just came out.

As long as guilds do both runs of AQ20 and the full AQ40 the supply should be sufficient in a few weeks. People not getting it from their guild however it’s gonna be pricey for awhile.

Excuse me. I want all the content done and be full BiS RIGHT NOW so I can get back to complaining about lack of content!

You or your guild should be doing the opposite of making the item right now. Sell all of the mats you get then re-buy them for 90% off in a week. The guild could bankroll everyones items, and consumes for the phase, if they sell early.

Heck if you wait to the day before your next lockout the price will drop a ton and you will still have the item for the 2nd lockout.

Example: Monst. Silithid Chitlin was going for 50g a few days ago. It’s 3g as of last night. If you sold 10 day one you could have bought 10 last night and banked 470 gold.

Though the scarcity of supplies, especially at the beginning of the phase I think is a good thing, I do understand where you’re coming from. I did all the mining for my raid grp and after a single clear of AQ 10 and 20 I had collected 4 Large obsidian shards, 2 from each. Thats 6 shards a week (2 lockouts of AQ 10). Just my trinket alone requires 16, and If i want one of the new craftable shields i’ll need an additional 20.

6 weeks of farming for 2 items. There will definitely never be enough supply for the demand, so If you see the obsidian for cheap grab em while you can.

I get 2-3 large shards per aq 40. Yeah there wont be enough.

Literally anyone who has this much gold is into RMT in some form or another or plays this game too much. Either way banning them would do everyone a favor. Go wild, Blizzard!
