i unlocked both the were-bear and sparkle kitty back in legion. i really aimed hard to do it and got it after so many attempts…
well, a few days ago i made a druid to level up and potentially main once more but i noticed the mage tower skins are locked and untoggable in the artifact weapon class hall thingy ( where you used to put in your power )
im concerned because i havent unlocked the red or the purple versions yet, only blue and green.
is this a bug? is progression still possible even tho its locked on the preview screen? Idk which druid i completed it on but i think its log since been destroyed.
I would be surprised that blocking the mage tower event somehow prevented using a mage tower appearance that had already been earned.
Not too surprised, though. It could be an accidental temporary side effect.

does that mean even the rewards i previously unlocked are unprogreessable?
well im able to use blue and green tint aswell as werebear snow and brown tint with no problem at barber shops.
at the class hall thingy i cant toggle any of them through the weapons tho which is a requirment for progressing
does that apply to even the skins i unlocked in legion mage tower? the ones that unlocked the actual skins
i think theres a active disconnect to what im asking and what you are refering too.
are you understanding what i am saying about the skins progress etc?

We have some extra work to do on the Mage Tower Challenge to provide the best experience for those who are pursuing its rewards, so with the pre-expansion patch (10.0.0) next week, we’re going to disable the Mage Tower.
We hope to re-enable the Mage Tower soon after the launch of Dragonflight. We’ll let you know as soon as we can confirm a date for that.

none of that is about skins achieved in legion or progression of the skins to unlock the tints.
it only talks about the rewards obtainable in the mage tower of now.
not the mage tower of then.
Just try to progress and you’ll find it on your own.
i cant see if im progressing cause its locked even tho i earned it
Just posting to say I’m experiencing the same thing. Mage tower appearances are listed as “locked” on a class that I know I’ve unlocked 2/3 on (Surv and MM hunter). I have 4 hunters, so no clue which one I unlocked them on, but for all 4 of them, the mage tower apperances are X’d out, even though I can access them via the barbershop. Since I have multiple hunters, I have no idea which one to use to try to progress the other colorways to test whether it still works even if listed as locked.
Additionally, on my shaman I can’t even access the artifact forge in the class hall, it’s not interactable at all.
