this game is in such a sad state that they need to sell subs by the 6 month 1 day before their investors meeting.
Can you fix the loot or the chores for alts ? nope but here you go take this mount if you pay for 6 months sub, let’s milk those people who cannot control their emotional purchases and sub by the month.
If anyone re-sub’d 6 months for the mount, you are the perfect customer that any one would DREAM to have.
Yeah, it would be a shame if they hadn’t been releasing a mount around this time for the last four years or something. Almost like something happens around this time every year… weird.
Pretty much standard Blizzard behavior, to be fair. Chinese customers are a large part of the subscriber base.

OP, They have been offering a mount as a promotion for buying a 6 month sub for a bunch of years at this point.
Nothing to do with what you think about the game as it sits today.

The mount was made months ago, probably before SL even released. Has no impact on other game things.
And it’s one mount, many get it for free just for being subbed. Not a big deal. People overreact to store mounts every time. 
While you are not wrong, it is bad that players have been conditioned to “not care” because of how often this happens.
So you’re saying people shouldn’t take the cheaper option for something they know they’ll be playing over the course of six months? That sounds like bad business advice.

I’ve been playing this game, without interruption, since 2005. Why, oh why, would I want to pay more per month? It’s very clear, with my guild going into it’s 9th year, that I will not be unsubing anytime soon.
And I got the mount anyway, as I already had an active 6month.

they released the chinese new year mounts around this time every year (the pig, rat and dog so far before this) and now its the year of the Ox so they released an Ox mount.
it’s almost like you don’t care about anything and are just looking for whatever the most recent topic is so you can post an “I’m unsubbing” post because of it when we all know you’ll be sitting at your computer for the next month playing WoW running around on the Ox mount
They’ve been doing the Chinese New Year mounts for four years, dude. It’s a tradition now. I bet they’ll do another one this time next year and the following seven years.
No already had an active 6 month sub for the sprite darter wings, now gotten that plus a mount for no extra cost.
