Unsubbing in December

Who says? I feel new and fresh.

  1. you can always play classic, the complexity of retail classes isn’t really that different than it’s been for…what, at least a decade right?
  2. yeah it’s annoying, symptom of relative anonymity in all content, no accountability for being a complete tool when you’ll never see people again
  3. not really any different, probably a you thing, totally understandable but them’s the breaks, if you don’t like rng, then wow is probably not the game for you

Take care

p.s. - farming single “bis” items is a terrible experience, do not recommend to all but the hc min/maxers

My sub runs out in december as well. Will I re-up? 50/50 chance right now. If things dont get a little more fun by then its more like 25/75. For a company that pays its CEO millions of dollars their product is sub par.

Looks like you pulled a rabititus out of your bag of tricks.

Just go. Why do people keep typing dear John letters as they quit . Just go.

Don’t give me they tell you to post your thoughts bs either. You hate on blizzard you are quitting but suddenly you obey their “post feedback “ request?! Just go.

Yea the game has gone off the deep end.

To me combat just feels awful now. It’s like I’m slapping rocks with a wet noodle. The rocks don’t even fight back, it’s just a minigame of slapping as many rocks as possible with a single swing of my wet noodle.

By the time scaling kicks in and any of the mobs mechanics actually matter there are 50 layers of mechanics, most of which require addons to track.

The game just jumps from “absolutely boring” to “overly designed.” with no in between.

Because people like talking about games. That’s normal human behavior.

What’s not normal human behavior is grand-standing over other people for criticizing a game. Did you not get enough attention as a child or something?

Isn’t every post on these wonderful World of Warcraft forums just another Dear John letter, when you really think about it?

It’s not, but if you really think about it, it theoretically could be.

Really the only point I fully disagree with.
I still have a shirt that says “I survived Barrens Chat”…our community has always been toxic beyond anything you seem to be capable of imagining. Half the people I know who still play, literally have the chat fully disabled excluding guild chat. They absolutely do not want to deal with their own toxic community.
Becaue blizzard just tells us to put on blinders, meanwhile the snakes keep multiplying in the grass and are going to keep biting innocent horses.
We need to purge the snakes, but Blizzard won’t let you. You can’t call out the bullies and trolls without getting in trouble. Doesn’t matter what they do or say, if you call them out or defend anybody from their toxic nonsense, you just get silenced or banned.
They say it’s fighting fire with fire, but they forget how useful that actually is.

I have a little script any time a troll pops up. I just point out that they are unloved irl so that’s why they have to act out in negative ways in-game. Because they would rather get negative attention as opposed to no attention because they are lonely.

Gets them to stop nearly every time. We should absolutely be shaming the toxic people in our community, because they make the game feel empty. a third of us literally have chat disabled, a third of us are almost afraid to talk or ask any questions on most servers because the trolls just come out in droves…
All because blizzard punishes the people like me who call out the trolls, and then let the trolls get away without any punishment at all most of the time, which just leads to them biting yet another horse because you keep telling us to put blinders on instead of actually doing something.

I promise you, putting them on ignore just makes them go on to attack somebody else, somebody who likely doesn’t have the mental wherewithal to realise what is happening and ends up getting in serious trouble and actually banned…Snake wins every time.

Other than that, I fully agree with you and I have been considering my own subscription as well. Especially the bit about RNG being not so random. Five boxes opened, five boots of the exact same name and stats. Same cloak 6 times in a row…but never ever even once has the Sacbrood dropped while I was in there on any of my characters. My priest got super lucky and got a Myth track version from her vault…

It just simply isn’t random anymore and it’s obvious the more you play and get loot.
My anecdote? Every character of mine that has done delves, got gear in order. Helm, then neck, then shoulders, then back…etc, etc. They were literally funneling loot to me thorugh delves and I can’t figure out why. AGain, not random at all and rng having that happen on four different character? That’s not random, that’s planned.

Add in how hard it is to actually get into a run of dungeons that last longer than the first death in the group. Hell, even when you make your own key, half the people signing up have no idea how to do the dungeons and expect the healer to do everything.

Debatable, and technology is the biggest culprit. “Use it or lose it.” is playing out in regards to the human brain, when it’s not needed daily, the mind slowly atrophies to nothing.

Consider the terrifying implications that 54% (little over half) of American adults are functionally illiterate by a populous study done on the subject. If that is as accurate as possible; presuming no biases convened, a suitably large enough sample group was used, etc… that’s not good news.

Dang I got so many negative responses in just 2 hours lol. I stated my points and oh well, agree to disagree. Times have changed and I have grown, some things can get bored and tiring, just the way time works.

How dare you.

Have you played classic? That’s the most elitist place I’ve ever seen

It has nothing to do with the game it’s just the way things are now

Legions loot was worse rng than this expansions is what are you even talking about lol

Im always suspicous of 1 post alt goodbyes. lol

None of these things are remotely new.

So what was the straw that broke the kamel’s back?

1: mmos might just not be your style if you find wow too complex. There are some specs that are simple 3-4 buttons and others with 12+ buttons.

2: These things are solved with a good raid guild.

3: RNG has always been part of wow. It is annoying and I think I’d prefer a way to just buy gear. But it’s been worst in the past. It’s no worse then the last few expansions.

u wot?

I always will remember, was a year ago in December.
I went and made a call, to Nessingwary, because his hunts did always gall.
He grabbed his rifle off the mantle, and shot the limit DEHTA would allow.
Two Elf Wardens, Seven Hunters, and a Cow.

The law was very firm it, took away his permit…
The worst punishment old Hemet ever endured.
He asked them for the reason, it seems that Cows were out of season;

…and one of the Hunters was also uninsured.

But when DEHTA asked ‘how do you do it’, Hemet said ‘There’s nothing to it!’
You just stand there looking cute. …And when something moves you shoot.

And so gracing the mantle of his showroom right now…
Are two Elf Wardens, Seven Hunters, and a PURE BRED MULGORE COW.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I’ll be here all week.

not touching 1 with a 10 foot pole, 2. sadly is a direct reflection of the games design bad design breeds toxicity. 3. also the product of bad design sorry to say but if you can’t figure out a way other then being piece meal with rewards to keep players engaged you flat out should not be working as a game developer…especially when you’re simultaneously pushing the game you’re working on into a looter shooter esque season format
