[Unsubbed] Why don't you want Good Things?

Why does the Wow Community not like Good Things?

I keep seeing people complaining about the game being bad, having no content, people unsubbing and others positively suggesting changes for the game to be better and fun.
And it is the community the ones who answer those complaints or suggestions with stuff like “If you don’t like it don’t play”.

Why would any sane person not want the game they like to be better?

When it comes to content, Shadowlands had basically none.
The only reason it took everyone over 2 months to get here is because of TIme-Gating the content.
Examples: Making people wait one whole week to get useful loot from the Great Vault and to continue their covenant campaign. Same for the Raid, you had to wait for it to release, then wait for heroic, then wait for mythic, and the only reason you couldn’t get to Mythic right away is that the loot was time-gated.

PvP-wise the game is simply not balanced and no one cares… sure everyone knows this and everyone complains but no one actually cares because the problems are never solved. Some specs are simply not viable, while others are simply broken and the community shushes anyone who complains about this.
Hae in mind that balance doesn’t mean all classes being the same, it just means all specs having the same opportunities to succeed.

But all of this is irrelevant as there is no actual reason to do any of this…

People do raids/mythic+ to get loot, and be able to do higher keys or mythic raids to get better loot… at the end of the day, you are just getting loot for the sake of getting loot.

The only people that enjoy the game right now are new players that have yet to encounter how awful the late game is, and those who don’t care because:
What they enjoy are their friends, and playing with them.
This still doesn’t mean that the game shouldn’t be actually good. I get it, you don’t care because you DO have fun with your friends… still… you could have fun with your friends while actually doing things that would still be fun even without friends.

I really cannot stand so many people defending this… not wanting the game to actually be good. People complain about the game because they have spent time and money on it and it feels outrageous that it all goes down the toilet as the game rapidly decays.

At this point, you will all start realizing all these people were right. once it is too late, and there is no one left to care.

I’m unsubbing like most people… eventually, someone will have to realize that only caring about the revenue and not the actual quality of a game will not be successful in the long run, then again… I doubt anyone is planning for the long run.

Sums up Shatlands to the fullest

And you are right, that is why everything is time gated.

But I do want good things

I’ve been asking for playable Ogres for years

What you or someone else views as “better” could be completely different for the next person.

Most people want the game to be good.

Most people also don’t agree on what makes the game good.

It’s bizarre the amount of people who defend this expansion. Reddit is even worse. A guy made a thread about how amazing Shadowlands is. He also stated that he only plays each expansion for a month at release and then unsubs…

These are the people you’re dealing with…

So let me get this straight - you want everything available in the patch in the first week, from the word go? Do you think possibly that people would power through that in a week or so and then go - well, this game sucks, there’s nothing to do? There needs to be a balance between giving content at a reasonable pace and satisfying everyone - and the latter is impossible. You never satisfy everyone, you just have to try and satisfy as many as you can.

Not saying things everything is good, by the way, but statements like yours don’t make a lot of sense to me. How others feel is entirely subjective.

Has WoW ever NOT been about getting loot of some sort?

I’d like to make a general statement - everyone who plays any game would like it to be good. Show me anyone who has ever said “I love this game, it sucks like a vacuum!”. But what YOU think is good and what someone else does is, again, subjective. Just because others enjoy all or part of the game does not make them wrong.

There is such a thing as a middle ground…

I agree and that’s why I meant that it’s impossible to satisfy everyone because that middle ground spot would be in a different location for everyone. Me personally, I’d rather have content spaced out at reasonable lengths so that there is more to do on my various alts as I level them up. If I get to 60, get my toon geared, etc and then sit around waiting a month for more then yes, that isn’t great.

Rather than time-gate in excess, I’d like to see certain forms of new activities put in throughout the patch to provide the players with things to do while they wait for the main releases. They don’t do that often enough for my liking.

It’s a double-edged sword the analogy you make… because knowing that Blizzard does this, we could all just not buy in until late in the .3 patch of an expansion and get all the content “from the word go”.

Nobody has one toon anymore, this isn’t 2006. If you level to 60 and get geared, you will likely be amped to do it again on an alt, and then another, since the barrier is low enough that it’s feasible.

Putting a bunch of time wasting busywork to get your main geared and up to date just makes me not want to play alts.

It’s the same cycle every expansion, one is too casual friendly, hardcore complains. One is too hardcore friendly, the casuals complain. It’s a tale as old as time brother, Burning Crusade was called waiting for Wrath and Wrath was called waiting for Cata. Shadowlands will be called waiting for 10.0.

Add to that the nonsensical plot with enough retcons and revamps to make you sick. Oh, but hey they threw in some rainbow characters for the sjws so lets give them a golf clap for staying with the times. Boy, do they know their player base! Unsubbed sounds about right.

What I won’t do is run Torghast and the maw for a year.

You know what? It hurts when you say stuff like this. I know you don’t care . . obviously you don’t or you wouldn’t say it. But I wanted to tell you anyway that there are perfectly nice real human beings out in the world that come across stuff like this and just feel stunned and hurt.

I’m not sure why you feel like you have to lash out at a whole group of people for a few minor characters in a game.

You should do better as a human being.

You’re focusing one part of the game and ignoring the rest, this is why you believe there is “no content”

There were people still playing 8.3 in game, what General Discussion deemed “the worst patch ever”

If WoW survived WoD, cataclysm and BFA, it will be fine in SL

Honestly IMO, it’d clear up the forums, sorry to say

No revenue no game. It’s a business you should not gold anything against them for trying to keep revenue up.

While I prefer legion over shadowlands it’s really not that bad. If you are unhappy you should leave.

Do you try to change your doctors way of practicing because you don’t like it or do you go to another one you like?

Same thing with games if you don’t like this one go to another one , if no other game is as good as wow for you then maybe you should thanks blizzard for making a good product like this

Only Sith deal in absolutes.

Lots of people want improvements to the game, not timegating and shallow design from a washed up team.

Don’t let the forums warp your perception, most people are totally on your side here.

Some people’s rants are legitimate, but it gets overshadowed by “lul blizzard bad!!” Posts
