why allow only one instance of the spell?
why give it a cast time if only one instance available?
I want to spread the love all over the place.

Because people would cry if you could apply UA to every enemy and then an enemy priest Mass Dispelled and wiped their whole team.
That is their problem not ours. They should be afraid to dispell us damn it!
in pve limiting it to one target just seem like such a bizarre decision
Haven’t played spriest in yonks’ but they seem to spread vampiric embrace around pretty good in pvp.
my guess is its how they balance our single target in PVE via Focused Malignancy. allowing UA on more than 1 target (which was a thing for a week in beta) likely wouldve maken that tuning knob nearly impossible
If UA was usable on multiple targets the spec would be so much more awful. Aff already has a long ramp up in M+, imagine if after tab Agony on everything, you needed to tab UA everything. If you want to know how it would feel, spec into Siphon Life and try to do a reasonable amount of damage on trash.
Vampiric Touch is their version of Agony (and SWP is like Corruption). As Cheezedot said, UA is the single target tuning knob for Aff, so it’s most akin to Devouring Plague for Shadow. Obviously there isn’t a 1-1 comparison, but both Aff and Shadow have 2 baseline dots that can be spread around.
We need an ability much like shadow priest to instant add all our base dots on a target. Preferably it should take the place of drain soul, and drain soul should become baseline. it is very underwhelming as a talent, and at the same time affliction feels unplayable without it.
But ua dispel would only hurt the priest not the team
Oh, that’s right. I’m not much of a PvPer, I was just being facetious lol.
