Unshrink Taivan

Make Taivan Big Again!

It’s probably one dev not cool with this and they’ve stuck their feet.

Just like there might be one dev who thinks the MoP CM sets shouldn’t be part of Remix.

It’s not prestige if people just don’t get to participate, that’s called hoarding antiques.

This shrinking really seems to have uniquely galvanized the community largely around a singular opinion: enlarge taivan back to normal.

It costs them -nothing- to revert Taivan. Its not gamebreaking. Other mounts are larger.

Other products would kill for an opportunity to have their consumers call out mostly as one a specific change that is basically free and would create joy. No expensive surveys to send out, no focus groups - a built in forum telling you exactly what customers want.

And to preempt the obvious rebuttal “but customers want everything all the time” - yeah sure but this specific change has 0 impact to gameplay and is a free win for positive impact.

At this point I’m thinking we’ve heard nothing because they don’t know how to tell us they’ve decided Taivan is stuck like this, and we’ll pick apart any arguments they can come up with defending their stance.

Apparently some gaming media have picked up on this too.

Sometimes all it takes is some bad press to force a change.

I really don’t get the lack of communication on it. I’m sure the community manager has asked a dev about this but I am guessing the dev doesn’t care to respond which is rude. It’s just tone deaf at this point to not provide something, even a “We hear you, we are looking into it” or a “We’ve received your feedback but this was an intended change because XYZ”

We’re aren’t even asking for anything new or special. The mount was big and fit with the story. It wasn’t the biggest mount and if it had door entry issues then it goes along well with mammoths. Then they nerfed the size without a word as to why anywhere and it’s universally disliked but nothing has come of it.

I will never get Taivan because I am too lazy.

That said, unshrink Taivan. Tauren need mounts too!

I was surprised I was so close just from casually doing stuff.

SO I went chasing him.

If I weren’t so close now, I wouldn’t be bothering now. He’s a vendor mount now, he’s going in my fave rotation and when he pops up I’ll go “oh, neat”.

I bet he is not restored too his original size he was when it first came out…

You can see it in the article I linked, he is the same size, it’s the saddle that shrunk.

You know what they say. Small saddle makes the dog look bigger.

Blizz said they were restoring his size.
The article shows the change of the saddle being fixed up.

Model viewers like that don’t show the actual size and only shows the saddle being made smaller relative to his model which could be 2x bigger or the same, we don’t know the scale of the model itself.

To be fair, the saddle was, while glorious in my opinion, actually too big. The shrunken saddle size at least makes sense instead of shrinking the whole dog.

I 100% agree that while the large saddle was great, the smaller one looks better. The large saddle made me laugh considering the change WotC did to Centaurs in 5th by making them size medium and can NOW ride horses and seeing the huge saddle made me think of that and I couldn’t stop laughing.
