They released a buggy trash patch.
If they didn’t they’d probably not have to do this as often as they seemingly need to.

It’s literally at the top of your main log in screen with the launcher at the top, white banner and another one on your character select screen in the left corner.
any more questions? yeah these are hotfixes but there probably bringing them down to fix the bugs themselves.
It wasn’t. I checked the character screen as I was logging out.
It is scheduled, not sure why people act like any maintenance not on Tuesday isn’t scheduled.
You can schedule something the day before, for example I could call the doctor office right now and try to schedule an appointment for tomorrow. That would be scheduled, not an emergency.

Hotfixes don’t require shutdowns, they’re either hotfixed (hence the term) or just restarts.
They scheduled it, which makes it scheduled.

and bug fixes require maintanece they probably found some bugs when they did those hotfixes that require them to take the servers down.
agreed tuesdays is scheduled…always. but less than 24h notice is not scheduled…not complaining. just saying.

when you write something on the schedule to happen as long as you give proper advance notice…then yes its scheduled.

So if I schedule an appointment with my doctor so he can see me in the afternoon, it’s not “scheduled” because it wasn’t an arbitrary number of hours early enough?

Coming from someone who has very limited time to play in the morning before having to leave for work, and didn’t get a chance to play last night, I received no warning and didn’t notice the notification until after I had already logged in, got disconnected after about 20 minutes making me think my internet got interrupted before realizing, oh, there was “scheduled” maintenance.
to be fair…dragonflight had this issue too…though it was more to do with the mechanics itself that seemed half done than anything else.
UM ya it was there early on the Bliz launcher. Just because you did not see it there does not mean it was not there in the first place.
