These should never be placed against the consent of those receiving them, as is possible currently in BGs and Solo Shuffle. I would like this fixed, and lack faith in the available report options.

I think you should be able to leave the group if you don’t like the icon given to you by the leader.

There’s nothing broken about it. It’s a thing that’s been in the game since 2004. I think you’re the first and only person to ever be pissed off about it, to be honest.
You’re more than welcome to report it, but if you do it enough, you just might be the one that gets in trouble for frivolous reporting.
I will often ask the tank to wear a marker in dungeons with a lot of mobs/boss adds because I tunnel vision very badly and it helps me know exactly where they are. It’s not generally meant to be malicious, it’s usually just people wanting to know where you’ve positioned yourself.
It’s definitely helpful in some situations, it’s just annoying when some stupid addon marks you because of a debuff/mechanic and then leaves it there for the next 30 minutes and you can’t take it off.

I’ve never had an instance where I couldn’t remove one of the markers the game puts on me due to some kind of mechanic. I just right click my portrait and go to the target marker icon and click it off 
I didn’t know they could do that. I can see how that would be a little irksome, especially if the screen is already full of visuals.
Good God have the trolls really gone through the barrel and in to the ground while trying to scrape for things to talk about

Yeah, in dungeons it’s a simple fix, in raids you may not have permissions for adding/removing markers.

I just don’t understand why people get in a tizzy over markers, if it bothers you so much then just leave. If you seriously feel so violated by the fact that you have a marker on you then just leave, move on and leave.
Yeah, because this is always the best answer when something happens that you don’t like

I mean its the stupidest thing people throw a tantrum over honestly, its a benign marker, if you are that bothered by it then you need to simply not play in MMO’s TBH, sorry not sorry.

Would be great to have the option to hide a marker on our toons just on our screens.
It is not the group leader marking me up which needles me.
Rather it si DBM, or like mods popping one on me for a debuff/buff/other status, but does not remove it once the matter has been resolved.
How on earth does saying something is annoying = a tantrum?
I have seen people leave groups over marks, cuss people out over marks in groups, and lose their minds over them on these forums.
I merely feel that nobody should be forced to wear a marker they don’t want. I could name some reasons, for instance, I play zoomed in pretty close on most of my characters. Having a mark in my face while doing this is just not preferable for me, regardless of how other group members feel. Also it can be distressing when people in these formats use the cross and skull markers as benign threats; I recognize they’re benign but it still can be upsetting.
In dungeons you can remove a mark placed on your head. I see that perhaps the reason you can’t in BGs and Arena maybe is because they’re considered raids and marks can’t be removed for the obvious reason that it would be troll if someone could just remove your raid markers. In the casual areas of solo shuffle, and BGs however, it would be nice to not be forced to wear a marker.
Why do people get so up in arms over minor requests that really don’t effect them much, at all?
