This seems like a bug, but on character screen I have an icon that says unread mail from a character that I have blocked. and when i log in I have no unread mail but continue to have an unread mail Icon.
I dont care what this person has to say to me I just want to get rid of the icon is there any way to get rid of this or block him from sending me mail.
Not sure if this is the right category for this but I wasn’t sure where it would best fit.
The way the in game mail system currently works it does not stop mail from Ignored people. It just hides them.
To remove it you need to unblock, open mail and delete, then block again. Or, just ignore for 30 days and it will get auto deleted.

Okay, thank you for the help. and this player will have no way of knowing that i opened the mail?
I don’t want them to know that i am acknowledging them in hopes they will leave me alone.
It hasn’t risen to the level of me feeling harassed just slightly annoyed so I don’t want to report.
If you can bear to let it sit for 30 days, they will know you didn’t open it when it gets kicked back to them.
You could also unblock them just long enough to hit “return” and kick it back immediately. That would send a different message.
Opened? No. The only way they know is if you reply or return it. You can open and delete without them knowing. There is no read receipt that I know of in WoW.

Thanks all for the tips. I opened it and replied saying clearly that I wished to be left alone. Which I would have figured that blocking them would have sent that message. But now there is no question about my intentions or reasoning so hopefully that will put an end to this.

this is news to me. i tried mailing someone that ignored me and it just wouldnt let me.
i guess its a case where the mail was already there waiting to be read and the person got ignored before the mail was checked? idk
I have no idea how the system is programmed, but I do know that one of the most common errors for “mail preventing transfer” is mail from an Ignored person they player can’t see.
I have never tested it out personally.
