WoWhead posted a tweet from Holinka confirming that monks will be included in a bit of unpruning when Shadowlands come. Any ideas on what we’re getting back or what we ought to get back?
Definitely Fort Brew all around baseline. Maybe even healing elixirs.

I would honestly like to see whirling dragon punch be baseline

WDP baseline OR Fists of Fury stun baseline. To have both would mean they’d have to do next to no damage.
Fistweaving actually viable again.
Expel Harm back to what it was in MoP for Brewmaster. BrM needs to have a little more control over their own fate. Being the only tank that doesn’t have an on demand heal sucks.
Did I mention Fistweaving being viable? Because, you know, Kittyweaving is a thing, so is Glimmer… we need melee Mistweaver back in some form, even if its only viable for M+ or Heroic Dungeon spam.
Touch of Karma back to being a defensive cooldown and not used as part of out dps rotation.
Breath of Fire having it’s incapacitate back.

I would love BrM to have Clash back, and the ability to throw kegs again.

Did you forget about warriors, the have less healing than monks by far
Uh only arms.
I know you weren’t talking about Fury in its current state…
At least I hope not…
Also I would love flying jade blossom back.
I was talking about prot.
fort brew and healing elixirs is all that they will do. calling it now. FOF stun would be nice, but i actually really like turbo fists.
WDP baseline and full strength karma without the talent would be ideal.
paralysis and transcendance back down to 30 seconds would also be great.
and im forgetting what the passive was called, but back in MOP WWer had something that increased our parry chance when fighting melee attackers. that would also be great.

I’d kill to have chi explosion back and to be able to use a staff as ww again

I know that it’s a minority opinion on the forum (though I’m not convinced that that’s true of players not on the forum), but I don’t see ability bloat for the sake of “unpruning” to be valuable or good in itself.
For me, the target design range should be 15-20 keybinds (including 3- and 5-minute cooldowns) with a little leeway for things that are relatively rarely used (like transcendence teleport).
Rather than groupthinking into unpruning = good, a better discussion would be to first determine how many abilities there should be and then to determine which abilities those should be.
Alas, I’m just random with an opinion in the internet.

your right. and your not alone.
some MMOs hide the amount of abilities under the hood. like look at GW2 as an example. 10 buttons, thats it. thats your bar. however, you can swap your weapons in combat that change out your primary 5 abilities for 5 more. and then when your underwater it changes again. a lot of the depth of that game is the customisation in there prestige class system. and then you can swap and match your weapons out of combat to other weapons, which then give you different abilities and more and more options. so in essence each class if i remember has over 70 abilities, but they are pre-determined by you ahead of time based on your playstyle.
you build you class how you want to play it based on your " talents ". you can mix and match the " specs " of the class and it augments the base kit to how you tailor it, and you can change that around on a whim for the content you plan on doing. and then you decide on the weapon configuration for how you then choose how you want to play around with your talent system and what moves and style you get from the weapons. it can be a crazy complex system, but its all based around your choices.
getting a little off topic here but: you can have a lot of depth in your system with actual creativity and very few buttons. you dont need a million buttons to get really deep gameplay. monks are already on the heavier side of buttons on bars.
Devils advocate, but rather than thinking “they all share a similar opinion, they must not be able to think for themselves”, maybe lets consider why people like the idea of unpruning. While we might have a higher number of key binds then other classes, there are some things that are definitely missing from the class itself. And I think some of the things they pruned off the class/specs, people were not happy about whereas they could prune off a couple/few abilities right now (in place of the old ones) and people would be far more content

If they make it baseline, would like if they improved its QoL, like being able to move. Also, why do we get all the negative effects from it’s jump effect and none of the positive? Like in Visions, using it puts the mask puddle under you, but it doesn’t clear the cockroaches from you. It also counts as moving so it stacks Leaden Foot. Pretty annoying.
