Blood elves are becoming Panda 2.0
I feel like Horde is being robbed of one of their main races (since BC) without getting anything back really. And no, few additional hairstyles dont make it right.
Mind you i am predominantly Ally player. Most of my chars are ally, and all my main chars are ally. I play horde occasionally to experience their story.
You can say void elves were robbing Horde already BUT VE were very distinct compared to BE. Now with this it all comes down to hair color/style with is not really major issue since BE can already have dark hair color. The difference between dark hair BE and VE would literally be purple ending on their dark hair.
I would love to see some sort of compensation for Horde for this. My best guess would be to give Nightborne some of Night Elves customization since they technically are same race (Nightborne being NE that used arcane magic).
And yes i do know to lore of elves raging from trolls to VE. I am NOT (and i cant stress that part enough) talking about the lore I am talking about cosmetic appearances here since that is major driving factor between uniqueness of horde and ally. Most people like to look unique and cool (that is why transmog was a huge success).
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Very unpopular. There aren’t many threads about this topic.

No, they really weren’t.
Throwing blue paint on the Blood Elf model and giving it to the Alliance is the farthest thing from “distinct”.

Everyone totally forgets that Horde got Nightborne, on a night elf model no less. They just aren’t popular so it doesn’t feel the same I guess.

Truth be told i havent been visiting forums much before. I started mainly coz of this issue in my head so my opinion might actually be popular but i have seen mostly people parsing this instead of being against it.
Being robbed implies a loss of possession.
This is obviously plagiarism.

Same with nightborne. But they were distinguishable by looking quickly at them. Now you have to squint your eyes and search for purple glowing strains of hair.

Because Blizzard actually put in the effort to make them distinct from Night Elves.
I doing so they made the male Nightborne butt ugly, but that’s nothing some more work can’t fix.
Like I said, Blizzard actually put in the effort to make them distinct, by merely making them stand differently, they look nothing like Night Elves until they start animating.
They could of done the same with Alliance High Elves and implemented them from the beginning, like Void Elves were supposed to be.

High elves were originally alliance. The devs gifted the horde blood elves as a population bandaid in BC. Now they are gifting them to the alliance.
Horde doesn’t own exclusivity to them.

I wouldn’t deny that, nightborne are considerably more distinct. Other than hair VE/BE feels comparatively like a palette swap.

I feel like I’m tired of ppl crying about something that wont effect them in the slightest.
“Oh no that alliance player has the same skin/hair color as me THE HORROR!!!11!1”
10min later I’m doing stuff with my own faction and will barely ever see alliance since I cant group with em.
Who cares man, ppl got something they want that you will rarely ever see. Move on already, waaaaay more important stuff to talk about. You know like SL mechanics and classes…

Nothing that more tentacles can’t fix.

I play horde BE hunter. Now that i got BEs in alliance i will lvlup my ally VE hunt and forget about the horde. Part of the uniqueness of horde is gone. If i get Ally trolls boom i dont have a need to play horde (based on appearances). They might just as well dissolve the factions at that point.

Don’t even wanna think about that run away train.

With the faction imbalance currently, thats not exactly a bad thing. Perhaps that is exactly what the devs want.
I know many who disagree with you. They like being on the edgy faction. They will remain blood elves.

Agreed. I love velfs but it is getting very extreme in how much we are taking from blood elves… Though most blood elves lore wise are recolors of blood elves
They will just bring up the very slight alterations and different idle stance, which is a poor argument because they could of done the same with High Elves and none of these threads would exist right now. In fact, the High Elf community already did all of the work for them and made slight musculature alterations and a new idle stance to make them equally as distinct as Nightborne are. Instead we received blueberry Blood Elves that literally defected from the Horde, the exact opposite of what we actually wanted.

I am not a part of that problem. I have 13 chars. 4 horde (paladin, hunt, mage, dk) and rest are ally (missing classes and including my main dk). All my mains are ally (war, shaman, main dk). I just use horde chars for story telling, not doing raiding or pvp or mythics.
