Unpopular Opinion: I Agree With The Portal Changes

Portal Room: At certain leveling points, you obtain a quest to create a “portal stone” which, when activated in a place you enjoy/want to return to frequently, fills one of the portal room areas with a portal to that location.

Raiders can put it outside their favorite raids.
Achievement hunters can put it at that place they’re farming for achievements.
RP’ers can put it in a sentimental location for their characters.

Win/win for everybody. Choice and convenience (should you so choose).

I would be okay with that as long as we kept the portals to org and SW. I could use some sort of customized portals. I think that is quite a neat idea. As long as I have an option of 5-6 of them. Not just 1 at a time.

Well I’m okay with the changes, just that the spot you get pooped at by the new portals is wierd, the legion portal leaves you in Azuna?? The MoP portal leaves you in LaLa land?

how is it increasing maus?

do you truly believe that every change to the game is made with dollars in mind?

Yes.

Businesses, never make adjustments Just because , and even more so in this climate within the gaming industry.

but this change in itself, does not equate to more maus.

so where is the money coming from?

You keep saying that, doesn’t make it so.

so explain it to me.

use crayon if you need to.

where are the extra maus coming from?

OK

New achievement for 1 example Raiding with leashes Pandaria.

Portal removed, longer travel time to ToT for example.

Pre removal player gets it done…let’s say in 30 days. Across his/her multiple toons

Post removal player gets it done in 32 days couldn’t quite get every single toon he could run through there in time

Does that make it any easier.

Disclaimer all of the above numbers are made up.

This argument is just ridiculous. You still have a portal to Pandaria.

Where in there did I say it was impossible ?

After I reread your post it sounded sarcastic.

I was using crayons like Nobully asked for.

I will just flag troll and move on, unless you want to discuss the issue as opposed to insinuating ones intelligence?

If stuff takes longer to do, then folks are required to spend more time active than they would otherwise to accomplish that same amount of stuff that they were able to do in less time prior to the change, leading to, errr, more active users. This seems obvious to me.

It’s not exactly tin foil hat time to believe that a business that wants to remain profitable makes most decisions with the bottom line in mind. To think otherwise would be foolish, in my opinion.

And yes, I know you said all, and I changed it to most, but the point is that when the reason given for a decision seems to be at odds with the actual result of that decision, it’s not unreasonable to believe that the real reason for that decision is somehow tied to the bottom line.

But I’m trolling?

Just because you dont agree with it…

Sheesh.

Blizzard doesn’t seem to understand the difference between a good grind and a bad one. They’ve made professions pointless while other MMO’s make theirs a full rich experience for the players. They won’t introduce player housing. They give us simplified game play like Island Expeditions to grind azerite for azerite gear that feels meaningless.

Taking away portals doesn’t feel like a good thing when Blizzard only ever makes the bad grind worst and doesn’t do anything to create good grinds.

so they don’t get it done, or they go to the AH for pets.

doesn’t mean they’re going to resub.

if they resub, then they were already going to anyway.

or… people do what they can within the time they have.
