Reminder that we’re paying $15 a month to play this game and well, can it even handle the population burden of the people wanting to play it just because there’s a pre-patch event?
This forum is supported by fellow players.
Connection troubleshooting resources are here:
Except there’s 3 Blizzard replies on the page currently, and it sounds as if he is speaking of the unplayable lag when zoning in for the PrePatch events that doesn’t clear until the boss is dead.
When there is info to relay from developers about known issues, they will often add a reply on the thread.
Which zone is lagging?
I’ve yet to see a reply from Blizzard addressing the huge spike in MS during instances. There’s numerous posts on forums but yet no reply from blizzard… sooo…
Tech support is a player-help-player forum. If the developers have metrics showing widespread issues, they pass that on to the customer support, and then they may make a post here. However, the tech troubleshooting processes have changed over the last six months. The courtesy connection troubleshooting, which involved reading WinMTRs and PingPlotters, was retired. No other gaming companies are reviewing those reports, opting to refer players to their ISP instead. So now Blizzard’s practices are in line with the rest of the industry’s approach.
So basically there’s no tech support. Cause there is a widespread problem.
Is there anything we can do to help them solve it in your experience? Cause from what i’m getting from your post is, “oh, they don’t attend player issues, just get used to it”…
Is that what you’re saying? I’m confused
Technical support is available from the staff via the ticket system and players who wish to participate via the forum. The staff no longer reads connection tests, which is what I explained. Instead, they now have a general connection troubleshooting article for all players, like every other gaming company out there.
You’ve reported it, that’s good enough. It doesn’t look like lag is listed on their known issues post at the time of this reply. I wasn’t able to replicate the problem in Dalaran on Illidan or Area52, but it’s possible other servers are running into an issue. Since it’s Day 1 of the prepatch, I recommend waiting for communication tomorrow, if they have something to share.
Yeah :/.
It’s unfortunate that they just choose to ignore this.
Is the problem still happening? I’m not seeing any chatter about it in any of the WoW-themed discords I’m in, so maybe it’s over?
It was happening in Dalaran where the quest was. I haven’t been back there so I don’t know.
Yeah, it’s still going on
