There have been multiple ideas and suggestions to allow using Azshara’s vanity and selfishness as a point of psuedo-redemption, by making it clear to Xala’tath that Azeroth already has a queen.
I am in favor of every single one of them. She serves as a perfect ruler to keep the Horde and the Alliance both on their toes.
We don’t need more allied races. We need more unique races. We already have 2 trolls, 3 dwarfs, 4 elves, 2 Draenei, 2 Tauren, 2 gnomes. We need something new not reskins of races.
On one hand I get it, as there are certain variants like Fel Orcs or Leaper Gnomes that can easily be a customization race like the Darkfallen and Man’ari, but on the other hand I really want to be able to play as a Forest Troll. Plus with how the male model is unique compared to the playable Darkspear model, Forest Trolls being a skin wouldn’t make them feel like a Forest Trolls.
I agree with that. While I can easily see any foot armor being put on their tail or being invisible, like it is for the Dracthyr. However I’m unsure about the mounting and stuff… Perhaps they tail could go around the mid section of the mount? Though I’m not sure how that would look…
Per Exploring Azeroth: Islands and Isles there is a Naga civil war in Nazjatar, so a rebel Naga group could make their own hatchery away from Azshara’s influence.
When Azshara returns I could easily see them getting a new humanoid form that would work with transmog, although I would also be fine with slithering around. Just say she made a new deal with whoever she has partnered up with that included legs. But if Naga ever come to the game I am changing all of my characters
Blizzcon for 2026 has been announced for that September 12 - 13. Based on the timing that would likely be The Last Titan reveal.
Now should the rumors of Azshara and a Naga Renown be true for Midnight, we could get them then or after. After all we got playable Nightborne and Highmountain Tauren after Legion. So it does leave the possibility for a Blizzcon 26 reveal for playable Naga.
it would make more sense bringing naga under the banners of horde and alliance in midnight, as they are technically an elven tribe, and have previous connections to the void through the old gods, though their queen was turned against by nzoth at the end. Maybe the betrayal and defeat of their god would open their eyes, or maybe the illidari naga forces join us, who knows.
So over on the story forums, someone had Horde Council questions involving the nonplayable races. Like if they had a say and what not, which of course made me wonder if we could see the Horde Council expand with playable Naga.
After all while the Dark Talons Dracthyr joined the Horde, there was nothing saying that Cindrethresh joined the council. Furthermore with how the Earthen was an individual choice, I find it very unlikely for them to get a council seat.
Patch 11.1.5 has officially been announced for 4/22/25 and with it we are another step closer to Midnight. It would be neat if it got a Naga reveal during in it. At the very least I could see Azshara return and us getting a Rebel Naga renown to work with.
