Would you do it? I might.
Surprised they haven’t pulled that ripcord.

Naw I like the old method buy expansion get new races. Only Activision would think of ways to suck more money out of you just to play a new race.
I would just unlock the allied races for everybody who has the expansion. They shouldn’t have been unlocks in the first place since it makes little sense.
Heritage armour is a better way of getting people acquainted with the race they’re playing, and it offers cool unlocks for the character you’re actually doing the unlocking on.
Absolutely not. Hell no. Not in a million years. Never.
The store is fine with its current cosmetics. Now maybe an allied race can be considered a cosmetic but I think they should remain with in-game unlocks tied to the story.
I had them all of their criteria unlocked by the time they were released, so nah.
Other than the ones that would be impossible for anyway, aka Dark Iron/Mag’har.
Since I got the Allied races that I wanted unlocked.
No.
In my head, my brain immediately answered “yes.” I had to remind myself how bad that would be if it meant bypassing all of the usual requirements for unlocking an allied race. That sounds like a dangerous situation.
No, because that is non-cosmetic ingame access.
Nothing should be sold in the shop or made available as reward for money that is not 100% cosmetic.
Nothing in the shop should ever be a way to get around earning something that is available ingame. This is why I really object to level boosts.
Mounts, mogs, toys, battle pets, race changes, faction changes…all fine.
But giving people access for money instead of access for doing the extant content to earn it? No. Full stop.
Exactly.
Looking at it from Activisions perspective, those “achievements” are only there to ensure players put a required amount of time for the privilege of a new playable race.
If they get their 6 month money upfront for it, that all of a sudden becomes a moot point.
Until you piss off half the player base and lose more subs than you earned with the stunt.
Listen, I’m 100% pro-cash shop, but that’s a non-starter right there.
No, how about you grind the quests like everyone else? it’s actually very easy and fast if you focus on it…
I’d frankly pay for it.
Don’t really see a reason to. With the removal of the rep requirements, you can unlock one in a day.
but if you were going to be subbed anyways isn’t it “free” maybe people like me don’t like jumping through arbitrary hoops for privileged features like allied races and pathfinder.
I agree. People whined about Rep requirements now they’re gone so now they’re whining about short questlines… I don’t think these people actually want to play the game.
Do what? You unlock them for extremely little effort now, and I have had a 6 month sub for years.
this isn’t whining, its a hypothetical question
well bless your heart, blizzard must be extremely proud of you!
What kind of hoops are you referring to? Easy quest chains?
I assure you they’re not hard nor do they take long.
It’s a ridiculous idea. Nothing to do with Races or Pathfinder should EVER be in the Shop. Cosmetics, Mounts and Pets should be all that’s in the Shop.
