Unlink Master's Call and Mortal Strike from specific pets

Title. I would very much like to take advantage of the paltry amount of self-healing I would gain from running a ferocity pet, but not lose MC or MS. Maybe bring back a simplified tree for the families?

No, unlink ALL skills from pets
Allows us to pick whatever skill we want and use whatever pet we want.
Also give us back the ability to customize ammo.
Im not holding my breath but, yeah.

For real, just let pets be a transmog option and let me pick my pet’s loadout.

I shouldn’t be mechanically limited to Cunning pets just because I want the thematic stylings of mechanical pets.

(And just to cut it off before it starts: Yes, keep Exotics limited to BM.)

There are ferocity pets with mortal strike, Devilsaurs, Carrion Birds, Scorpids, Ravengers, and wasps. You have options for Mortal strike in all pet specs.

Thats not the point really, you take cunning pets for master’s call.

Yeah but the post made it seem like mortal strike and Master’s call had the same type of restrictions which they don’t.

I should have been more clear. I realize you can use ferocity pets with MS, but Master’s Call - not so much. I’d like both and the leech passive. I suppose that’s kinda like wanting cake and eating it, too, but hey, a hunter can dream.

I prefer the old days where MS was tied to a Hunter ability, Master’s Call only required a pet be present, and pets all had various abilities that you would choose based on, for example, the comp you were facing in arena, or what kind of damage you wanted to do on a boss. Or maybe you wanted to try soloing something tough - out comes the tenacity pet with stam buffs and heal buffs via trees! You know, pet diversity. Heck, I bet they could slap a pretty simple 2 choice, 5 row talent tree together for pets without too much effort.

Master’s Call shouldn’t be linked to any tree of pet. They should make Master’s Call baseline and link Roar of Sacrifice to Cunning Pets. Yes I know that could be an unpopular statement but they have always leaned on Cunning as the “PvP Pets”. Roar of Sacrifice + MS or Slow on top of a Master’s Call would make a lot of players happy in both PvE and PvP scenarios.

If they have to replace RoS as a PvP Talent then add the Improved Mend Pet where it would remove a harmful effect on our pet or Spirit Bond.

The reason I brought this up is often times in 2s arena the passive healing/absorbs are LUDICROUSLY high for DPS specs. I was with an (admittedly undergeared) HPal, and at the end of a match vs Spriest/[other dps class], I did 900k damage to the priest. NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND damage to a guy with ~450k and no pocket healer. I had to do his health bar twice and he still didn’t die. What in the actual eff? Feels about the same for some other specs, too. I do SO MUCH DAMAGE against double DPS comps and neither die. Would love to be able to use my passive healing pet without gimping my MS so they end up doing 50% more healing.
